Load on Sophomores To fill the shoes of ten regu lars and three starters gone this year, Coach Good will have to rely upon untried sophomores and inexperienced H :tam members. This means the entire Husker outfit is undergoing a rebuilding process. Currently, besides the lack of experience, the lack of height is also hampering Coach Good in his chore. Minnesota will not lack any height in their opener. The Go phers have three huge sopho mores pressing the five seasoned starters. The trio of sophomore hotshots are John Wallerius, Dave Weiss and Bob Wello. Meyer "Whitey" Skoog, one of the Big Ten's leading scorers last season, will be on hand to trouble the Huskers again. As a sopho more two years ago, Skoog pumped in 17 points against the Scarlet. Gophers Teaming with Skoog at forward is Dick Means. Maynard John son will be at center and Roger Schnobrich and Art Anderson will start at the guard positions. Coach Good has tentatively picked the following starting lineup: Forwards Norm Wilnes and Bernie Akromis, Center Bob Pierce, and Guards Jim Buchanan and either Subby Ruma or Joe Good. Preseason dopesters are taking Minnesota as one of the top three teams in the Big Ten conference along with Iowa and Illinois. Ne braska last defeated the Gophers in 1936 at that by a 29-24 tally. The Huskers won at Minneapolis in 1935 by a 41-24 score. Probable Lineups Nebraska Minnesota Norm Wilnes ....F Meyer Skooc Bernie Akromis ..F Dick Meant Bob Pierce C... CosmoUnaf filiated Champs; SAE Fraternity Champions The Cosmospolitan Club and Sigma Alpha Epsilon roared into the finals of the All-University Volleyball playoffs Wednesday night by sweeping two straight games from their semi-final opponents. The Cosmo Club kept its rec ord perfect by copping two from the Denominational champion Lutheran Student Association by scores of 15-8 and 15-3. With this win the Cosmos aWed an other crown to their already won Independent title, that of the All-Unaffiliated championship. The Lutherans, playing with only five men, gave the highly ing Cosmos a battle in the first game before tiring. The second game was just a question of how fast the Cosmopolitans wanted to go home. The victors now have a string of 26 straight victories. Rougher Evening Sigma Alpha Epsilon had a little rougher battle of it from Delta Upsilon. The SAE's won the first gaiflfe by a 15-12 score. The DlPs faded under the spik ing of the winners in the second game and that score wound up 1-5-8, SAE. Both the DlPs and SAE's were league I teams in the fraternity division and oddly enough, the the play moving and the action fast. Pre-finals play has found the favored players taking a beating from such men as Jack Cohen and Bill Pratt. Cohen defeated defending champion Eddie Sar kissian and now reigns as favor ite in the finals. Pratt triumphed over Carl Fahrenbach for the other upset. No matter who wins in the long run, the tournament should be very interesting to all and a lot of fun, so remember the time: 4 p. m. today in the Union ballroom.
