This past year the naval and
military science programs were

If you are an entering freshman,
you will be required to take the

If an ROTC student decides to
continue the course through four
years of college he can receive a

take a commission in the National

drill periods.
FRESHMEN entering the basic
course must complete two years

vacancies existing at the time of
enrollment. The advanced course

upon completion of the advanced
course is entitled to keep his uni

undergo six weeks summer train

this area. During this six weeks
training they undergo regular
army life.
There are many social activities
to be entered into by the ROTC
student, such as the Military Ball,
which opens the NU social season
and is attended by so many ci
vilian and military dignitaries.
Military societies at the Uni
versity are Phalanx, Scabbard and
Blade, Pershing Rifles, founded by
the late General John J. Pershing,
who may well be called the father
of ROTC at the University.
IF YOU'RE NOT an ROTC or
Air Force ROTC student, chances
are you are enrolled in the Naval
Reserve Officers Training Corps
or the Marine branch of that
service.
Most NROTC student apply for
