This editorial is going to start with a pretty rash state ment! But we think it is a fact and bears some thought by the student body. It is just this facilities for fire safety and prevention are sadly lacking among organized houses and cooperatives on the campus. To be sure, there are a few fire-conscious groups that have taken the necessary precautions, but for the most part, thoughts of fire prevention and safety have been forgotten amidst formals, house elections, and the "new flame." Members of one house on campus, in conducting an ex perimental fire drill, had never even been down their fire escape; in fact some of the occupants were scared to start. Several obstructions, a bed and a screen to be specific, hampered the way to the fire escape.
