PAGE 3
Head Coach Harrv Good said
Thursday Nebraska's failure to
build up a large half-time score
against the Northwest Missouri
Teachers was due to the lack
of consistent scoring from out
court.
Good indicated he would drill
the squad heavily on long shots.
"I definitely intend to stress
shooting from out on the court
before our game Monday," he
said. "You must have good
shooters or your under the bas
ket game won't work," Good
continued.
The Cornhusker mentor ex
plained that an opponent will
spot a team's inability to hit
from the floor and drop back
to protect their basket, thus
stopping a "drive-in" attack.
Good was pleased by the Hus
ker's penetration of the Teach
ers's defense in the second half.
"I thought the boys did a more
than satisfactory job in decip
hering their style and holding
them to four field goals in the
second half," he said.
I The work of sophomores,
Norm "Buckets" Wilnes of Sid
ney and Jim Buchanan, Fort
Wayne, Ind., was mentioned by
Good as worthy of mention. He
indicated that with more season
ing both men would see quite
a bit of action this year.
In reference to the coming
Bradley game, Good said, "It
will be one of the tougher, if
not the toughest early teams we
will meet."
The Huskers will meet the
Bradley quintet Monday night
school's new gymnasium in
Peoria, Illinois.
The team will leave Lincoln
Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and arrive
in Galesburg, 111. at 5:55 p.m.
Following dinner, a special bus
will transport the Cornhuskers
to Peoria. Good plans to drill
the squad Sunday night on the
new Bradley floor.
