This was the announcement of the special activities committee which stated the old man will be present at the two events of the day. A Christmas Open House will Cosmo Paper Editor Hits Asia Politics Walter Willi, editor of the U N Cosmopolitan, bears the major re sponsibility for that publication. In his editorial, "Lest We For get," which appears on the first page of the November issue of Cosmopolitan, Willi points out that "political indifference and unawareness have to a great part opened the way for political systems directed against the es sential freedoms of mankind." Let this serve as a reminder to those who would shirk their polit ical responsibilities in pursuit of personal pleasures. Hindu-Moslem Conflict. In an article on "Kashmir and the Cow," also appearing in the current issue of the Cosmopolitan, the editor remarked that the Kashmir conflict "is a conflict be tween the Hindu and Moslem, which, in other words, means that the Hindu wants to worship and adore the cow while the Mos lem wants to eat it." This is fol lowed by a more detailed discus sion of the hows and whys of the strife. Cosmopolitan of the month is Sonia Sookdeo, a Hundu girl from Trinidad in the West Indies. Of Lincoln, Sonia says she likes it 'especially its neatness. "People," she says, "are always very friend ly and- show a great interest in improving their knowledge about other people and their customs." NUCWA Explained. Other articles include an ex planation of NUCWA by Susan Reed, publicity chairman of the group and a managing editor of the Daily Nebraskan. Vladimir Lavko, in an article entitled "Night Over Prague," discusses incidents in Czechoslovakia rela tive to the theme of this month's Cosmopolitan. Articles by Dean Krasomil and Claude Hannezo, a feature of Pandit Nehru, and various mis cellaneous items complete the edition. NU Cosmopolitan is a monthly publication of the Cosmopolitan club. Subscriptions may be pro cured from members or by writing the club in care of the Union. Subscription rate is $1 per year. Law Hopefuls to Take Tests Friday Aptitude tests for admittance into Law College will be given Friday and Saturday of this week. The examinations are be ing given mainly for those stu dents who will graduate in Janu ary. Students who are interested should report immediately to the Dean's office, Room 208 of Law College, to get their application blanks. be in order from 7:30-10:30 p. m. The theme will be "an old-fashioned Christmas party." Bob Russell, chairman, ex plained that a varied program will be presented in different rooms of the building. Music By Ma burn Jerry Mayburn and his orches tra will offer music for dancing in the ballroom In another room, movies, including several shorts, will be shown. A special vaudeville program may be seen in Parlors A, B, and C. Directly above, in Parlors X, Y, and Z, Santa's laugh room will be located. For music lovers, spe cial entertainment will be given in the music room. Refreshments will be served in the main lounge while background music is provided by the organ. Later in the evening, Christmas carols will be sung. The other big event of the day is the Kiddies' Christmas Party presented earlier in the afternoon from 4-5 p. m. Children of all faculty members and students are invited to attend. Youngsters' Show Slated to keep the youngsters busy is a "fun-filled program," according to the committee. Movies, a magician's act, a Christmas story-teller, songs and a gift exchange are the activities in their order. Santa will be on hand to distribute the gifts. Each kiddie is asked to bring a gift worth not more than 15 cents. Parents are also invited to be present. Coffee and cookies will be served. For those who live in Huskerville, special transportation will be provided to and from the Union. M.B.'s Will Offer Ticket Special "Now Is the Hour" will be the slogan announcing "bargain hour" Wednesday when Mortar Board ball tickets will sell for $2.95. "Bargain hour" will take place sometime Wednesday at the ticket booth in the Union lobby. A sign will announce the hour during which the ticket price will be reduced form $3 to $2.95. Four Mortar Boards will run the booth at that time. Mortar Bod ball tickets will be on sale at the regular price all week in the Union. Jimmy Dorsey will play for the annual dance Friday night in the Coliseum.
