Union Emphasizes. 'Student
In Week's Activity Calendar
With activities for everyone the
theme of the Union programs this
year, a full week of events has
been scheduled again for this
week.
On Wednesday at noon, it will
be free movies in the ballroom
when the Husker-Kansas State
game is shown. Thi is the third
in the series of Campus Quarter
back movies.
Rally Fling
Friday night a free Rally Fling
will be held with Jerry Lopez
providing the music. This is the
second pep dance of the year.
A Pigskin Party will begin at
1 p. m. Saturday, with popcorn
and apples to complement the
football game on the radio. A
dance will be held in the ball
room following the game.
Saturday night will see ISA
members attending a member
ship drive wind-up dance. All
holders of ISA cards will be ad
mitted free of charge. Jimmy
Leriche will provide music from
9-12 p. m.
Free Movie
The week will come to a close
with a movie in the ballroom Sun
day evening at 7:30. Victor Ma
ture will star in "Fury at Furnace
Creek," the free movie.

chairman of this department.
Other Departments
Other NUCWA departments are
publicity, speakers bureau, inter
national studies and information
and research.
The publicity department is
headed by Susie Reed. This de
partment works through The
Daily Nebraskan and Cornhusker.
Plans are also being made for ra
dio projects.
Pat Stoural and Claude Han
nezo are co-chairmen of the
speakers bureau. Principal work
of the speakers bureau is the
sending of foreign student speak
ers to Lincoln and out-state
schools.
International Studies
International studies is headed
by Sara Fulton. Much of the work
of this department will be con-
nected with this year's confer
ence. Other NUCWA officers include
Vice-President Bob Stevens and
Secretary-Treasurer Irene Hunt
er. The three officers with the
department heads form the ex
ecutive council of NUCWA.
NUCWA is also making plans
for the observance of UN week,
Oct. 17 to 24. Projects underway
include showing films pertaining
to international affairs, co-operation
in planning the annual
FriendshiD dinner Oct. 22 and a
joint convocation with the Cos
mopolitan club to hear an address
by Chancellor Gustavson.
Faculty advisors for NUCWA
are S. J. House, Frank J. Soren
son and Norman Hill.
World Affairs Council
The World Affairs council is
setting up a committee to co-ordinate
all activities pertaining to
international affairs which are
sponsored by such campus organ
izations as YW. YM, Red Cross,
AUF, etc. ..

The president and two repre
sentatives of each class form the
Law Association, the governing
body of Law College. The Asso
ciation is in charge of the school's
honor system and elect the col
lege's representative on the Stu
dent Council.
