M.V. Wins Big 7 Golf Title;
Sooners Take Runner-Up Spot

Missouri scored a team total of
608 strokes to win the Big Seven
Golf Conference championship.
Dick Ashley of Kansas State
was medalist of the tournament
with a 149. This score gave him
individual honors.
Paced by Henley and McKiney
with their scores of 150 and with
Roilins and Provow adding 154
apiece, the Missourians won by a
comfortable margin of 18 strikes
over second place Oklahoma.

Student Types
Students are constantly ex
pressing anything but comple
mentary comments upon the
learned gentlemen who lecture
while they sleep, the profs, but
seldom does it dawn upon these
samt students that they come in
for some careful scrutiny.
Prof. A. Reid Winsey of De
Paw has the following comments
to make on the student "type."
'THE ATHLETIC TYPE the
academic processes hold no ter
rors for the hero of the gridiron.
His fraternity brothers have a
complete file of my lecture notes
and examinations. It's a rare
treat to find him in class. So
nice of him to come.
"The playboy type the morn
ing after finds him in class wKh
his roommate's shoes on the
wrong feet. He drops his pipe
but never quite recovers it. 1

mits must be obtained at Student
Health.
Reservation cards for tennis
may be secured at 102 P. E. These
cards entitle the holder to use
of the new Grasstex courts which
are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Competition Over Phi Delts
Maintaining their lead Over Phi
Delta Theta, Alpha Tau Omega
won th intramural au-sporis
championship by a comfortable
margin of 147 V4 points.
In the final tally, the Taus ac
cumulated 1882 points to th
Phi Delts 1735. Beta Theta Pi
was third with 1475, Delta Upsilon
fourth with 1377, and Phi
Gamma Delta fifth with 1372.

year's winners, placed sixth, fol

The ATO's won only two firsts

and cross country. They also took

ning the all-sports race, was pre
sented to Bob Berkshire, varsity
track man and the Taus' intra
mural chairman.

Craft Instruction
Craft shop lessons will be hell
in the Union beginning June 14,
from 7 to 9:30 p. m.
Instruction will be given or
Tuesday in textile painting, block
printing, cork, jewelry, dresden
craft and metal work. On Wed
nesday instruction will be given
in leather work, plastics, wood
carving and art metal work.
Thursday the craft shop will be
open from 2-5, but no instruc
tions will be given.
The craft shop is located in
the Union basement.
