Convocation, Field Day, Dance

Engineer's Week plans for
fk.v include a convocation,
day and a dinner-dance.
Wiliiam A. McConnell, head of
the engineering test section of the
Ford Motor Company, Dearborn,
Mich., will discuss the testing of
automobiles in his talk Friday
morning. The convocation, which
is scheduled for 11 a.m., will be
held at the Nebraska theater.
THE FIELD DAY, with its inter-departmental
competition and
faculty-student bull sessions, will
begin at 1 p. m. in Pioneers park.
Baseball games, a sack race and
other contests will be the order
of the day. Points earned by the
winners in each event count on
the special award presented at the
evening banquet.
William Raines will act as toast
master for the traditional dinner,
at which scholarships and honors
will be announced. Dean Roy M.
Green will present the O. J. Fee
award; Kent Tiller, the Sigma Tau
scholarship key; and Temple Neu
mann, the Blueprint Key award.
ANNOUNCEMENT of depart
mental awards will precede the
presentation of the winner of the
Engineer's Week contest by Bob
Bottum and the Field Day prize
by Mono Wilhelms.
The banquet will begin at 6:30
p. m. in the Union ballroom. Danc
ing will follow, to the music of
Johnny Cox's orchestra.
