Husker Baseballers Travel
To KU for Two-Game Series
Coach Tony Sharpe and his
diamond faithfuls left Thursday
afternoon for Lawrence, Kas.,
where they will meet Kansas
University in a two-game series,
Friday and Saturday.
Sharpe has juggled his batting
order in an attempt to improve
the team's hitting. Hobe Hays has
been switched to the number two
spot and Cerv will be batting
clean-up against the Jayhawks.

DICK GILMAN, Kansas' lead
ing hurler, is the probable starter
in the first game. Gilman has
pitched both of the Jayhawks'
conference wins this season. Kan
sas has lost four league games.
Against Kansas State, Gilman
hurled a four hitter and he turned
jn a three hit performance to beat
Missouri. The only conference

Off to Drake;
Hutton Sick
One of Nebraska's star track,
performers has been forced to
skip the Drake Relays which take
place at Des Moines Friday and
Saturday. Coach Ed Weir will be
without the services of Dick Hut
ton, veteran sprinter.
Hutton, one of the Husker's
three star sprinters, has been
ordered by his physicians to skip
the relays this week. Dick has
been ill the past few weeks with
a stomach disorder which slowed
him up considerably in the Kan
sas relays last week-end.
BILL I1EIN, Alliance sprinter
will take over Ilutton's spot on the
440 crew while Don Vollertson,
Talmage, will run in the 880 re
lay event.
Coach Weir left at t p. m.
Thursday with a squad of 18 men.
The shuttle relay team and the
sprint medley quartet are the best
Husker bets for victories. Dick
Piderit also has a good chance to
win the javelin throw.
