A Thursday, April 14, 1949 THE DAILY NEBRASKAN PAGE 3 Annual Ag Feeders9 Day -k Expected to Draw 2,000 The annual Feeder's Day, to be held at Ag college April 22, is expected to draw more than 2,000 livestockmen and farmers for its concentrated, full-day program. The event, which will include special meetings for women, an nually attracts thousands of peo ple from Nebraska, Iowa, Kan sas and Missouri to learn the latest in livestock feeding. Chief speaker of the day will be Albert K. Mitchell, Albert, N. M., president of the American Livestock Association and promi nent cattle feeder. Mr. Mitchell is also a member of the National Livestock and Meat Board. He will talk on "Beef Cattle and the American Economy" during the Bafternoon session at the. college activities building. THE MORNING session will open with a panel discussion on the efficient utilization of rough age in cattle feeding with Prof. Marvel L. Baker, associate direc tor of the experiment station, as leader. J. C. Adams, superintend ent of the North Platte sub-station, will discuss making the best use of Holstcin steers and Prof. William J. Locffcl, chair man of the animal .husbandry department, will outline the year's cattle feeding experiments. Dr. W. V. Agronomist E. C. Con rad, following Mitchell's speech, will discuss the effect of early cutting of meadows. Dowe will talk on the use of urea in live stock feeding and Professor Baker will outline the lessons form the past year's experiments. THE SESSION for women will open at 9:30 a. m. with Miss Margaret Fedde, chairman of the University's home economics de partment presiding. There will be a singfest led by Mrs. Altinas Tullis, director of the Ag college chorus. Dr. Margaret Liston, as sociate professor of family eco nomics and housing, will talk on "Houses for Farm Family Liv ing." Dr. Frank Sorcnson of Teachers college and co-ordinator of United Nations education in Nebraska, will speak on the con tribution of the United Nations to world peace. Miss Florence Atwood, state home extension leader, will pre side at the afternoon session. The meeting also includes singing, a talk on books and a meat demonstration. Marr to Play 'Caesar9 Lead Gaylord Marr has been se lected to portray the leading role of Christopher Mann in the Ex perimental theater's premiere of "Due Unto Caesar." The tragedy is slated for performance April 29 in Omaha for the Central States Speech convention. A spe cial presentation will be staged April 25 at the Temple. Written by Martin Cobin, pro fessor of speech and drama at the University of West Virginia, the play is an idealistic symbolic quest of a man searching for a true guiding principle. As the names of the characters imply, the tragedy is a definitely symbolic play a type of alle gory as one cast member has put it. Cast in subordinate roles in clude Margaret Dutton as Mann's wife, Maria; Ed Weisenreder as the governor; Max Lee as Mark; Jack Macdonald as Genghis; Michael Shannahan as Goliath; Don Nichols as the Priest; Elaine Lamphear as Grandma; Mary Lou Thompson as Zaro; Dennis Vernon as Eric Glennel, the pris oner; Abe Katz as the Grand Marshal of the Armies; Doc Se cord as the first general and John McEvoy as the second general.
