Denker and Carroll, ATO were chosen at the guards while Heiss and Vrbka, Farm House, were at forward and center, respectively. The first heat was won by Bill Baker, who outlasted Jacobs to win in :53.4. Perry won the second heat by a wide margin over Whiteacker. Perry's time of :53.3 was one-tenth of a second better than Baker's effort in the final tabulation. Yelkin and Robinson ran a close two-man race in the mile, with the White's Yelkin leading all the last half mile. His win ning time was a good 4:46.2. Wendy Cole renewed his battle of the hurdles with Bcdker of the Reds, when he edged his op ponent in the 60 yard lows. The time in this event was :07.3. The Phi Delt teams of Curran and Martin, Shea and Brownlee and Lyle and Al len each blanked their opponents, 3-0. In the only other badminton game Beta Sigma Psi won 9-0 over Beta Theta Pi by default. Inside Story . . . Exhausted Daily editors finally unearthed a solution to the prob lem. The Rag decided to choose its own queen in a purely non commercial manner. The announcement was made and a host of freshman beauties descended on the Rag office to file for the honor. Monday night was pure joy, when staff members rated some 34 freshman women for their beauty. The six finalists were selected on a 1 to 10 scale rating. Their pictures were published, a poll was taken and now The Daily Nebraskan, like every other cam pus club, has a sweetheart.
