City Campus Registration
Procedure Begins Dec. 6
Registration tickets for next semester will be given out
next week in Temporary Building B, according to G. W.
Rosenlof, registrar. Beginning Monday, Dec. 6, the proced
ure will last thru Friday, Dec. 10.
Early registration procedures will be much the same
for city campus students as they
vere last spring. Students in Ag
college will follow a different
plan which will be announced
later.
Following is the procedure for
obtaining registration tickets.
Day Announced.
Dec. 6: Seniors and graduate stu
dents (89 or more semester hours
earned to date.)
Dec. 7: Juniors (53 to 88 semester
hours earned to date.)
Dec. 8: Sophomores and freshmen
whose surnames begin with A, B, C,
D,K, P, O, or H.
Dec. 9: Sophomores and freshmen
whose surnames begin with I, J, K,
li, M, N, O or P
Dec. 10: Sophomores and freshmen
whose surnames begin with Q. R, S,
T, U, V, W, X. Y or Z.
In order that all sophomores
and freshmen may have been an
even break, the tickets set aside
for Dec. 8, 9 and 10, will be dealt
out one, at a time into three
piles. Ticket one for sophomores
and freshmen, for example, will
go to the first student applying
on Dec. 8, ticket two to the first
student on Dec. 9, and ticket
three to the first student on
Dec. 10.
Identification Cards Needed.
Each student must present his
Identification card in order to
secure a registration ticket.
There will be no exceptions to
this rule.
. Students in doubt as to wheth
er or not they should receive
junior or senior registration
tickets should present their
credit bocks, grade reports, yel
and low evaluation slips and or
a copy of their current registra
tion form.
Actual registration will be held
on the city campus in Temporary
Building B beginning Dec. 15.
Temporary Building B is the first
white frame building south of
Andrews Hall.

Russian Crisis
At YM-YW
Dr. Kirby Page will speak on
"How to Prevent War with Rus
sia" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at All
Souls' Unitarian Church, 12th and
H Streets. Dr. Page's talk will be
followed by a forum discussion.
There is no admission to this
program sponsored by the Inter
Church committee of Lincoln. All
members of the Ag YM and YW
who wish to attend are asked to
meet in frort of Ag hall at 7 p.m

Council Dinner
Slated Tonight
Chancellor Gustavson and sev
eral members of the administra
tion will be guests of the Student
Council at a joint dinner Tues
day evening at 6 p.m. in Parlor
A of the Union.
This dinner will give the Coun
cil an opportunity to outline the
general plans for the year and re
port on what the Council has ac
complished this year. Reports
from various committees will also
be given. An informal discussion
of proposed Council plans will
follow these reports.
Invitations have been extended
to Dean Carl W. Borgmann, Dean
Majorie Johnston, Dean T. J.
Thompson and Dean W. C. Harp
er. This dinner will take place
of the regular Wednesday night,

FOUR NEBRASKA COEDS lift 40 foot Christmas tree into Ellen
Smith hall in preparation for the Holiday season. Another large
tree has been decorated .and now stands in the Union lounge.
"Deck the halls with boughs of
holly!" will be the order of the
day Wednesday for the Hanging
of the Greens, traditional decorat
ing of Ellen Smith hall for the
Christmas season, at 7 p. m.
Plans for the evening, under the
direction of Jean Eckvall, include
a dessert supper, a Christmas pro
gram and decorating the tree and
the downstairs rooms of Ellen
Smith.
The program, planned by Ruth
Troxefl, will consist of carols by
the Vesper choir, a Christmas se
lection by Shirley Sabin, a ma
rimba solo by Marjory Miller and
a reading by Polly Ann Rickly.
The decorating, to the tune of
more carols by the Vesper choir,
will be directed by Phyllis Cad
wallader. Others directing will be
Joan Reynolds, Ginny Guhin,
Phyllis Campbell, Pat Larsen and
Janet Kepner.
Due to limited space, invita
tions were sent only to officers
of women's organizations on the
campus. Reservations must be
made by Tuesday noon in the
Y. W. office. Alita Zimmerman
heads the invitation and ticket
committee.

Students Plan
Colorado Ski
Trip Dec. 26
Plans for the skiing trip to
Colorado are nearing completion,
and there will be a meeting for
all interested persons Tuesday
evening at 7:30 o'clock in Parlor
Z of the Union.
Tentative plans for the trip call
for departure on Dec. 26 and re
turn on Jan. 2 or 3. This will al
low six or seven full days of ski
ing.
Expense of the trip will be ap
proximately $55 to $60. This in
cludes a room at the Hotel Colo
rado, meals, transportation out
and back, rental of ski equip
ment, and use of the ski tow. Res
ervations for rooms at the Hotel
Colorado are being arranged.
All Interested persons are asked
to be at the meeting this evening
as the exact number of people
making the trip must be known
so reservations can be made at
the hotel. Also people desiring to
rent ski equipment must be pres
ent to give shoe sizes so boots
can be reserved.

Fills Pep Vacancy
Kathleene Clement has been
chosen to fill a barb at large va
cancy in Tassels, girls' pep or
ganization. Miss Clement was chosen from
a group of 21 applicants, one of
the largest number of girls ever
to apply for a single vacancy. The
applicants were entertained by
the members of Tassels at a gath
ering held before their regular
meeting Nov. 22.

All university women will ballot in Ellen Smith hall today for
Eligible Bachelors who will be presented at the Mortar Board ball
Dec. 10. The polls will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and. mem
bers of Mortar Board will officiate. The Ag Exec board will be in
Singers Give
Annual Carol
Program
University Singers will be pre
sented in their annual Christmas
Concert in the Union Ballroom,
Sunday, Dec. 5, at 3 p. m. and
4:30 p. m.
The traditional program of re
ligious and folk tunes of many
lands will be conducted by Dr.
Arthur E. Westbrook. Assisting
Dr. Westbrook is Prof. David B
Foltz, who will direct University
Singers groups I and II in the
all-male and all-girl voice num-
fbers. Two selections each will
be played at intervals by a string
quartet and quintet, composed of
l heodore B r u ns o n, Jeanette
Hause, James Price, Marjorie
Squire and Janice Liljedahl.
The Carol Concert is annually
presented by the Union Music
Committee, in conjunction with
the School of Music. Committee
chairman. Rex ' Pettljohn, states
that tickets will be issued free
of charge, upon presentation of
identification cards at the Union
office or School of Music. Two
tickets may be received for one
ident card.
'The Baker's Wife'
Scheduled Today
The widely-praised French film,
"The Baker's Wife" ("La Femme
du Boulanger"), will be shown
today at 4 and 7 p. m. in Love
library auditorium.
The plot of the movie is an
incident from the story, "Jean
le Bleu," by Jean Giano, known
throughout France for his poems,
essays and novels. The movie was
directed by playwright-producer
Marcel Pagnol.
Red Cross Urges Christmas
Programs hy Houses, Clubs
Special Christmas projects by
organized houses and groups at
local institutions are being urged
by the Red Cross college unit.
Eugene Berg, president of the
group, and Jean Fenster, institu
tional projects chairman, have
formulated a plan for the houses
and clubs to follow in carrying
out the holiday program.
Urge More Interest
Pointing out that the number
of local homes makes an exten
sive participation necessary, Berg
and Miss Fenster have invited
student groups to become in
terested in their local community
and its needs.
"Students who participate in
this friendship program will help
the people i" the city and state
institutions, besides bringing a
new satisfaction and awareness
to themselves," they emphasized.
"We will claim a brighter holi
day season for ourselves by help
ing to brighten their Christmas
tide."
Institutions Eager.
Local institutions including the
Veteran's hospital, the Children's
Orthopedic hospital, the State hos
pital, and other local homes are
eager to open their doors to stu
dent: groups.

Carries Xmas Theme
The College Unit, which re
cently entertained at the Vet
erans' hospital with a variety
show, is sponsoring the program
as a suitable Christmas plan. It
is designed to interest the col
lege student in his local com
munity and its needs, besides
carrying out the real concepts of
the Christmas season "good will
to men."
The College Unit will help the
groups to make proper contacts
at the institutions to prepare for
visits and parties. It will also
provide transportation if it is de
sired. Other members of the Unit
