Dr. R. Allyn Moser, assistant
superintendent of the University
hospital, associate professor of
medicine and director of the med
ical clinic at the dispensary, was
elected treasurer and business
manager of the American Orni
thologists union at their recent
convention in Omaha.
Dr. Moser's position is national
recognition of the scope of his
work. He has been president of the
Nebraska Society of Ornitholo
gists for several years.
Dr. Robert C. Murphy of the
American Museum of Natural His
tory, New York City, was named
president of the Union.

F. Marsh Loan
Fund Started
Fred A. Marsh, Archer, has
given the University Foundation
$1,500 to establish a student loan
fund, according to Perry W.
Branch, director-secretary.
Although any student in any
colleeg of the university with
good character and scholastic
standing are eligible lor loans,
preference will be given to Negro
applicants.
The fund was established in
memory of Mr. Marsh's sister,
Miss Maud Marsh, who "lived a
selfless life of devotion to her par
ents and a paralytic brother."
When the fund reaches $4,000,
thru income and additional gifts,
it will become a scholarship fund.
Recipients will be selected by the
university's general scholarship
committee.
Mr Marsh is a former member
of the university Board Regents
and is a trustee oi the university
Foundation.

Convention Plans
Barbara Speer, YW president,
Ruth Shinn, executive secretary
of the University YW, and three
other delegates will represent the
University Y at meetings held on
Friday to discuss issues to be
brought up at the national YWCA
convention in San Francisco.
Fran Wallace, Katy Rapp and
Phvllis PaHwallader are the other
delegates. Miss Speer will intro
duce Mrs. Porter Brown, a na
tional board member of the YW,
the sDeaker at a luncheon held in
connection with the meetings.
