First semester classes of the
1948-49 school year are scheduled
to begin at 8 a. m. on Thursday,
Sept 16. The role of 'University
of Nebraska "students" will be
gin at 9 a. m. Thursday, Sept.
9, with a convocation for all
freshmen and transfer students
Other activities before that
date involving incoming students
will include Pan-Hellenic (fra
ternity and sorority) "rush1
weeks, and ;the period for mid-
ical examinations, required of
all new students, from Sept. 3-15,
Guidance and counseling ex
aminations for new students will
take place from Thursday, Sept.
9 to Saturday, Sept. 11. Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept
15-17 inclusive are scheduled for
general registration.
Freshmen women who wish
to obtain freshman caps may
pick up eards from the Mor
tar Board Society members.
Members of the University
of Nebraska Innocents So
ciety will distribute cards from
freshman caps to all entering1
men.
