This air-conditioned, three story building, should be especially popular on those hot sum mer days. All students are entitled to all the facilities of the Union, such as a record room, containing a large classical library, a card room, table tennis room, lounge, Corn Crib, cafeteria dining room, and ballroom. Guidance Exams' Dates Released Two special dates for taking comprehensive guidance and counseling exams have been scheduled for the convenience of all new students expecting to en ter the University of Nebraska next fall. Dr. George W. Rosenlof, Direc tor of Admissions, said the exam inations will be held July 23-24 on the university campus for stu dents who wish to get their exams out of the way by the end of the summer. All new students must take the exams. Exams were also Union Starts Summer Term At Open House To open the summer session activities program the Student Union will entertain all students at open house on Friday, June 11. For entrance, a students need merely present his identification card. Each student is entitled to bring one guest not registered in the University. The Union doors will open for the party at 8:30 p.m. Dancing will last until midnight. Music for the dance to be held in the ballroom will be provided by Gene Moyer and his orchestra. Feature of the evening will be a floor show. Lloyd's dance studio will present a dance demonstra tion of Latin American numbers. Another form of entertainment will be a series of movie shorts which will be shown in room 315 twice during the evening, at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. The music, card and game rooms will also be open for party-goers' use. Refreshments punch and cook ies will be served during the evening. held June 4-5. The two special dates are in ad dition to the regular exams set for Sept. 9, 10 and 11 just prior to registration. This quiet room, furnished with books, news papers, reading lamps, easy chairs, study tables, ashtrays is a com fortable and relaxing place for students to study or read in the spare moments between classes. A no smoking ban in this room was re moved last spring. Library Receives 150 Donation Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hill, Lin coln, have given the University Libraries $150 to purchase books and music by or about Jewish musicians and artists, Frank A. Lundy, university librarian, an nounced Wednesday. The books and music will be selected by Mr. Lundy from a list of titles prepared by Prof. Duard W. Laging, chairman of the art department, and Myron J. Rob erts, assistant professor of organ and theory. The gift was made to the university through the Uni versity of Nebraska Foundation.
