Johnson was included was that
Chancellor R. G. Gustavson was
unable to attend for the Univer
sity of Nebraska. As an alumnus
of Nebraska, Johnson was invited
to represent his alma mater at
the impressive inauguration cere
mony. Johnson was heard as soloist in
a number of opera and oratorio
performances while an undergrad
ate here, and was president of
Phi Mu Alpha, musical fraternity.
