A TALENTED SCl'LPTURESS of carved figures and animals, Cleo
Hartwig has created "Lion Cub"' out of tawny yellow limestone,
now showing at the Nebraska Art Association at Morrill Hall. In
the 1946 show, Miss Hartwig's stone figure, "Mother and Child,"
was shown.

Ye Olde Time Flicker Nile,
sponsored by the Union general
entertainment committee presents
a calvacade of early century
"mela-di amers," well inter
spersed with advertisements,
cartoons, mood music, and the
general courtesies of the house,
such as "Go ahead and slec p.
we'll call you for breakfast," and
"will the couple in the 21st row
please refrain from smooching;
ou a"e blocking the mayor's
view!"
This special variety show, to be
presented Sunday, March 21, at
7:30 p. m. in the Union ballroom,
will leature westerns, comedies of
the Chaplin type, slides of early
day spoils. Fatty Arbuckle car
toons, piano music to fit the
theme of the scene, popcorn and
peanuts, and loud cheers and
jeers from the audience.
In the Colorado Tistrict High
School Tournament at Rocky
Ford, Colo., March, 1941, La Junta
and Las Animas High Schools
battled to a scoreless tie in the
regulation game time. In an over
time period Las Animas won,-2-0,
on a field goal.
