Wool Judges
Gather Honors
At Denver Show
The University of Nebraska fin
ished ahead of Utah and Wyoming
to take top honors in the wool
judging contest held Sunday at
Denver, Colo.
The winning Nebraska team
was composed of Robert Meade,
Tecumseh; Norbert Tiemann,
Campbell; and Eugene Jensen, St.
Edward. By virtue of their con
quest, the team received the Chal
lenge trophy, presented by United
Stales Testing company of Ho
boken, New Jersey.
In previous judging at the show,
the Ncbrcska delegation ranked
third in the carlot judging held
Friday afternoon. Texas Tech
and Montana ranked ahead of
the Nebraskans in that order.
Saturday's competition found
the team placing sixth in all clas
ses of livestock, with a second rat
ing in cattle and a third in hogs.
Gene Gard of Beaver Crossing
grabbed individual recognition as
high man in cattle and fifth in all
classes of livestock.
The livestock team was com
posed of Vaughn Johnson, Omaha,
in addition to Gard, Meade, Tie
mann -and Jensen. Prof. E. V.
Dunalp was team coach.
Profs Mail Scant;
Reason Uncovered
J. E. Lawrence, editor of the
Lincoln Star and professor of
journalism, apparently has been
receiving only part of his mail.
If the letter box at his downtown
office is scantily filled, the reason
has at last been uncovered.
Form letters from all manner of
publishing houses and minor news
services recently have been ad
dressed to him as "Mr. James E.
L a w r e n c e, Managing" Editor,
DAILY NEBRASKAN, Lincoln."
Look Magazine even wrote him
a personal letter at that address.
The Daily immediately appropri
ated three cents and forwarded
the Look communique.
