Football Players Now Look tdrf
Way to Spend Spare Time, Energy-
By JERRY JACUPKE
Now that the current football
season is over there are about 35
big, husky red-blooded American
boys running around campus
wondering what to do with their
extra energy and spare time.
Rey Hoy and Don Sailors are
putting added effort on courting
every gal they can get their hands
on, while Clete Fisher will spend
much time at the Women's Resi
dence Hall along with Big Ralph
Damkroger.
Driving Dale Adams, of course,
will spend his time with his beau
tiful home-town gal, Fern Jen
sen. Tom Novak will use his leis
ure time playing handball as he
fights frustration until he can hit
his favorite spote in Omaha over
the week-ends.
Rumors
"Little Fuzz" Partington, ac
cording to rumors, is enjoying
home life. Ed Nyden wants to be
come a mining engineer because
he thinks he would like to work
in mines.
Ardie Means D.G. president
roses every week hooked 'nuf
said.
Carl Samuelson and "Smilin"
Jack Pesek have little time for
anyone while they spend their
spare moments pasting clippings
and waiting for the mailman with
pro-offers.
Out of Shape
Junior. Collopy has taken to
drink and you see him drinking
lots of milk shakes and in general,
breaking training and getting out
of shape. But Fred Golan, who
never could get enough to eat,
can be found at Tonl's Spaghetti
Bar.
Bob "Smoe" Ackerman and
Buck "Goose" Barger are busy
planning parties at their "house".
Doc Dees steam bath will really
get a workout now.
Wrestling team prospects get
help and advice from Mike De
Biase when he's not with his
charming wife and baby daugh
ter. But Gene Wilkins and Freddy
"Angelo" Lorenz stay at the old
grind keeping in shape for the
annual Blue-Gray game at Mont
gomery, Alabama, where these
two fellows will represent Ne
braska. Homework
A little blonde freshman in his
MWF English class keeps Charlie
Toogood on his toes, while Alex
Cochrane makes plans for visits
to Fremont. He is the proud dad
dy of a baby son.
Dougie Doyle gave up his extra
curricular activities and claims
he will devote his time to law
books and his pin-mate, Betty
Hubka ... or is this the week not
to be pinned, Duggie??
The campus, of course, won't
be the same now that this influx
of muscle is at hand. Perhaps the
repercussions won't be so bad as
soon as these boys get back into
the swing of things. So just don't
stand in the middle of the halls
and by all means keep your eyes
open, 'cause you may be blocked
or tackled until football is defi
nitely out of the air.
