Easterner Club
Selects Cohen
Nciv President
New officers for present year
were elected at Wednesday's
Easterners' Club meeting. Art
Cohen .founder of the organiza
tion, was unanimously elected to
the post of president; Peter Bee-
lak, assumes the posts of vice
president and treasurer; and 15U1
Boydston became the organiza
tion's secretary,
Bill Boydston, Transportation
Chairman .outlined the full sched
ule of the "Student Special," con
sisting of private, specially
equipped coaches, running on the
Burlington Railroad to and from
Chicago for the purpose of mak
ing satisfactory connections leav
ing and returning to Lincoln.
Train Time.
The train leaves Lincoln at
7:30 p. m. December 20 and ar
rives in Chicago at 8 a. m. on
the 21st. Returning, the "Student
Special" becomes a part of the
"Advanced Flier, and leaves Chi
cago at 12:30 p. m. January 5, ar
riving in Lincoln at 10:40 p. m,
on the same day.
The Burlington officials have
Informed the Easterner s Club
that all reservation trains leaving
and returning to Lincoln on these
days have been sold out, and that
the "Special" -is the only hope
for the eastern students who have
not as yet made reservations to
return east. All those students,
whether members of the Eastern,
ers' Club or not, who are inter
ested in taking this train either
or both ways are requested to
contact Bill Boydston.
Besides notifying Boydston, in
tereste students are requested to
purchase coach tickets at the
Burlington ticket office before the
15th of this month so the railroad
can make appropriate arrange
ments for the number of people
going.

ger, president of the group.
Hanging of Greens.
A Christmas devotional program
end the Hanging of the Greens
will highlight Baptist student ac
tivities this week end. A lunch
will be served Sunday at 5:30 at
the Student center. Dec. 14 is the
date for the Backwards Christmas
party. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Wil
mot are in charge.
Regular Sunday morning serv
ices at the University Episcopal
church will be at 8:30 ' and 11
o'clock.

Film at Meeting
"Bridging a Century," a movie
depicting the development and
construction of the Golden Gate
bridge was shown at a recent
meeting of the American Society
of Civil Engineers.
Additional comments on the
subject were made by Prof. R. E,
Edgecome, ASCE faculty adviser
Plans were discussed for the
Engineers Week program and in
spection trips for the coming year
at the meeting. Members were re
minded of the Engineers Convo
cation on Tuesday when John
Cramer will speak.
The next meeting of the ASCE
is planned for January 15.
