Three na tional colJeeiate chamnions and a National A.A.U. champion head me neid. Only two-time N.C.A.A. cross country champion in track his tory is Fred Feiler of Drake. The wiry little Bulldog ace will anchor Drake's teams in the two mile and distance medley relays. Up against Feiler in the dls tance medley relay will be Bobby Ginn of Nebraska, who captured the N.C.A.A. mile crown with a time of 4:11.1 in 1941 before the war interrupted his college career. Texas' brilliant crop of fleet sprinters will be headed by Earl Collins, team captain and N.C.A.A. 220 yard dash champion last year. Aiding and abetting Collins will be two Texas Relays 100 yard dash champions. Allen Lawler this year's winner, and Andy Shurr, wno captured the century in 1945. Missouri standouts in the indi vidual events will be L. D. Howe, crack high jumper, and Bob Crowson, sprint ace. Howe tied for first in the high jump at the National A.A.U. meet last sum mer with a leap of 6 feet, 534 inches. Crowson ran second to Collins in the 1945 N.C.A.A. 220 yard dash and finished third in the 100. Brightest Star. Brightest star in the whole Kan sas Relays field may well be Har rison Dillard, hurling sensation from Baldwin-Wallace college of Ohio. A brilliant hurdler before going into the army, the Negro boy has come back better than ever. Prior to his spending S4 months in the army, a good deal of which was in the Italian campaign, Dil lard had been Penn Relays cham pion in the 1943 high hurdles and had chalked up a 22.8 for the 220 yard low hurdles, one of the five turned in in this event. Back from the army only in time for the tag end of the in door season, Dillard ran wild in those meets. At the Knights of Columbus meet in Cleveland, the Baldwin-Wallace star defeated Ed Dugger, National A.A.U. indoor champion in the high hurdles, and Buddy Young, ex-Illinois streak, in the low hurdles. The following night at the Pur due Relays, Dillard set a new American record in the 60 yard low hurdles. In both the high and low hurdles that night he vanquished George Walker of Il linois, 1945 NCAA champion. In the javelin throw the field includes Herb Grote of Ne braska, runnerup at the 1940 NCAA meet; Paul Fagerlind of Iowa, second at the NCAA ses sion; Leonard Naab of Michigan State, 1942 Central Intercollegiate champion; and Karl bel of Kan sas from Look's "AU-Interschol-astic Track Team." tion to Lawler in the 100 yard dash, there will be Tom Scofield of Kansas, high jump; Miller of Nebraska pole vault: Drake, dis tance medley relay; Kansas State, two mile relay; Texas, half-mile relay; and Abilene Christian, col lege mile relay. Other place winners from the 1945 NCAA meet set to perform in the Kansas Relays are Dick Miller of Nebraska, third in the pole vaut; and Dean Kratz of Nebraska, fourth in the mile run. Champions from the first big outdoor meet of the season, the Texas Relays, will compete at Kansas In seven events. The visiting Oklahoma nine split a two-eame series with Iowa State last weekend, but prior to mat had been undefeated in a swing through Texas. Mitchell Heads Sooners. Outfielder Dale Mitchell is thi big gun in the Oklahoma hitting attack. In his first year in col lege ball he led the Sooners in batting with a mark of .420. He spent some time in the service but is now back in a baseball uniform hitting in the cleanup spot for Coach Jack Baer's team. The Nebraska lineup will have Dean Jackson at fir 4 base, Bobby Rubino at second, Wes Maser at shortstop and Wilbur Baach at third. Bill Kinnamon will be be hind the plate, with Frank Brown, Bob Bolen and Truck Williams in the outfield. Husker Tennis Team Entertains Oklahoma Squad With a record of one win and one loss, the University of Ne braska tennis team will face the University of Oklahoma tennis team this weekend in two matches. The first match will be nlaved Friday at the Lincoln Tennis club and the second match on Satur day. Action gets underway at 2 p. m. on both days. Ad Lawandowski, who is hand ling the Husker squad, has named Bill Barrett, Lincoln, for the No. 1 spot against the Sooners. Bar rett scored a double victory in the iiuskers' win at Kansas State last Saturday, winning his singles match and combining with Julian naiton to take a doubles victory. Bud Marsh.
