Page 4 THE NEBRASKAN Wednesday, December T9, UN Mermen Prepare for Competition Twenty university mermen have answered Coach Ed Higgin botham's call for varsity swim mers and are working out daily under his tutelage in preparation for a five-game schedule tenta tively arranged to get underway early in February. The tentative schedule opens with meets at Colorado Univer sity and Colorado A & M on Feb. 8 and 9. Plans for a trip to Iowa to vie with the Cyclones on Feb. 15 and with the Hawkeyes at Iowa City on the 16th. The lone home enagement thus far, will be with Iowa State on March 2. There will be no Big Six swim ming meet in 1946. Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas are with out squads; and it is doubtful if Kansas State will compete. Men working out daily in the coliseum pool include Lowell Ankrom, Falls City; William Burr, Lincoln; Preston Tucker, Ypsil anti, Mich.; Fred Hass, New Carl isle, Ind.; William Gard, Geosse Point, Mich.; Stanley Johnson, Friend; Robert Olney, Lincoln; Fred Hamlen, Dover, Mass.; David Landon, Manhattan, Kas.; Conrad King, Omaha; Ted Lehman, Lin coln; William Pearson, Lansing, Mich.; Pete Foe, Lincoln; Neale Copple, Albuqueque; Dwight Woodruff, York; James Moore, Omaha; Ward Quilter, Buffalo, New York; Jack McGin, South Bend, Ind.; Sid Wells, Fremont; Harry Marsh, Omaha. Other men wishing to try for a position on the squad are urged to report to Coach Higgin botham at the coliseum daily at 4:00. Competition for places on the team is still wide open, with divers especially in demand. IM Wrestling Meet Begins; 125 Men Enter The university Intramural wrestling tourney got underway Monday with 17 matches being run off in two rings in the Coliseum. Over 125 entrants have signed to participate in the com petition. Highlighting Monday's bouts was the Buchanan-Kratz match in the 155 class, won by Buchanan in 4:44. IIKAVYWKIGHT.
