No Definite Starters. Klein has not named a definite starting lineup as yet, and is ex perimenting with various combi nations to find an outfit powerful enough to battle the Minnesota Gophers on even terms. "Riders to the Sea" and "A Minuet," were the two wne-act plays the Experimental Theatre presented last night as the second in a series of one-act plays. "Riders to the Sea," one of the best known Irish one-act plays, was written by John M. Synge in 1904 to portray life among the Irish seagoing families. Maurya. an old woman played by June Gast, sophomore, loses six sons who drown in fishing -aocSdeTrts. Bartly, her last son to ''die- was played by Don Douglas, junior. Two Daoffhten The two daughters,, portrayed by Marjorie Mathews, freshman, and Dorothy Manion, sophomore, figured prominently in the plot oi the tragedy. Also in the cast were Margaret Hancock. Sue Taube Dick CMeara and Robert Haus- : man, all freshmen. The second presentation, A Minuet," took place in the living room of the gaoler's quarters in the prison of the eonciergerie. The time is during the terrifying days of the French Revolution. The marquis was played by John Kor mos, and Annette Segal took the part of his wife, the marchioness. Jesse Thomas, a sophomore, por- Debators Travel To Conference On 'Free Trade' Don Kline, Ted Sorensen, Bob Gillan and Tom Sorensen are at tending the Iowa Invitational Dis cussion and Debate Conference at the University of Iowa at Iowa City this week end. The general topic for debate will be "Free Trade." On the affirma tive will be Don Kline and Ted Sorensen- and taking the negative are Bob Gillan and Tom Sorensen. Original Oration. An original oration on peace will be given by Ted Sorensen. Bob Gillan will speak extempor aneously on the general topic "Problems of War." Directors "A Minuet" was directed by Jacquelyn Rasmussen, senior, and "Riders to the Sea" was in charge of "Howard Henry, sophomore. Both were under the general sup ervision of Dallas S. Williams, di rector of the University Theatre. Students, faculty members and season -ticket holders were in vited to the plays.
