NEBRASKAN Page 3 H QJ IK EE (P 0 (B Qi EL IT EE JT By George Miller Turning once more to the foot ball wars of the week, we find that the Big Six championship will be decided Saturday at Co lumbia when Oklahoma and Miss ouri collide, matching unspotted conference records for the top spot. The Sooners, with a conference record of four wins and no losses, concludes their Big Six play against Missouri, while the Tigers have two games left to play. After Saturday's game Missouri meets the Kansas Jayhawks in a Thanksgiving Day clash at Kansas City. Oklahoma has been facing rugged opposition this year and should tame the Tigers to rack up their third consecutive Big Six crown. The loss of starting fullback Jack O'Connell did nt help Missouri hopes. Nebraska scorers get a chance to add to their totals Saturday against the University of South Dakota. The Coyotes have yet to win a game this year, and will be easy pickings for the Huskers who have been running up against strong foes all year. Kansas and Kansas State battle for the cellar position at Law rence, and the Jayhawks look to be stronger than the unpredict able Wildcats. The other Big Six team, Iowa State, also faces a home state op ponent, for the Cyclones battle Phi Delts Tie Betas For 2nd In Football Phi Delta Theta earned a post season second place tie in intra mural football standings when a recheck of the completed sched ule resulted in the discovery that Beta Theta Pi had played two games with Sigma Phi Epsilon. Rules prohibit this occurrence and forced cancellation of the second contest between the two squads which Beta won on the last day of the season. The "no game decision" gave the Beta outfit a 7 to 1 record and dropped them from their un disputed second place spot behind the all-victorious Phi Gams into a tie for runnerup honors with the Phi Delts. Two squads will split second and third place su premacy points in the Jack Best trophy race. IM TABLE TENNIS Sigma Nu 3 Zeta Beta Tau 2. Sigma Chi 3 Beta Theta Pi 2. This will be a def ininte upset if the win material izes, but the Wolverines took a bad beating from Navy and may not be back in peak form. Indiana finds an easy win against Pittsburgh, Illinois and Ohio State will be close all the way, but the Buckeyes should re tain their spot near the top of the standings. Notre Dame has enough strength left to edge Northwestern, Wisconsin to fall before Navy and Minnesota ought to get back on the winning side against Iowa University. Miller's outstanding play at the net proved the deciding factor as he won- the closely-fought con test. Barrett, state prep doubles champ last year, repeatedly worked the game to deuce but couldnt top Miller's brilliant play. Beta Theta Pi edged Pioneer by one point to win the team cham pionship. Betas Cressman, Busch and Barrett, victims of Miller's fine play in the final three rounds, earned the points necessary to bring the trophy to their house. Alpha Tau Omega finished third, Phrelta Theta fourth, and Kappa Sigma and Delta Tau Delta fifth. A navy group was sixth.
