THE NEBRASKAN
AS I SEE IT
By
Altho th Nebraska track team
took only 6 men to the Big Six
track Indoor meet in KC they
surprised the whole state let alone
the campus when they placed sec
ond in that meet.
They scored six firsts, winning
every track event except the mile
and the 60-yard dash. They led
the field in first places by a ratio
of two to one. They entered 7
of the 12 events and managed to
walk off with firsts in six of
them. They produced the only
double winners in the whole meet,
and at that supplied two of them.
And to top it all off, they missed
out on the championship by only
seven points.
Most of the other teams bought
18 men, the maximum allowed,
strength of most of the other
teams, the boys with the scarlet
shirts were across the fir: ' first
three-fourth of the time . the
boys had won the l?at r he
mile relay, they would have
copped the meet and brought
home the championship.
The hard luck boy of the track
team seems to be Tommy Mc
Geachin, freshman hurdler, who
the day before the team left,
turned his ankle in practice and
had to stay home.
