In the final issue of the Ne
braskan last May, AUn Jacobs
thrn editor of the paper, wrote an
editorial entitled "Dissertation on
a Helluva Yew." Mr. Jacobs
meant what he said, because last
year marked the beginning of the
change from peace to war-time
in college all over the nation. In
reviewing this lssi semester of this
year, it might be called again
"Dissertation on e Helluva Year."
UN celebrftit-d its seventy-fifth
birthday on Fetruary 15, without
the traditional convocation. Also
in February, Beta Gamma Sigma.

seniors to membership, and the
Student Council ejected two stu
dents for fbser.teeism. The Tri
Dells won the Fenny Carnival con
test, and enrolment increased six
per cent -over the preceding semes
ter.
Coeds Marry
By the t-nc of March, half the

the sociftv columns. Chancellor
Boucher announced that there
would be a full civilian course

selors. Previously elected had been
Mary Russel. Tassel prery, Anne
Wellensiek. YWCA head, and
Mickey" McPherson, president of
WAA. Pollyann Petty received the
bizad honorary key.

and campus houses got robbed.

Honors Cor. vocation honored 549
students on April 18, in apite of
decreasing umvtrsity interest in
scholarship. New Student Council,
ag exec bowd and publications
board members: were elected, and
the hard-working engineer played
for a day on April 28. Music
sororities presented "Carmen," Or
chesis. its annual recital, the Uni
Theater a gripping mystery play,
and debaters, finished up a suc
cessful season. Harold Andersen
became Student Council president,
and in spite of rain, the first ag
open house was an outstanding
success. Dorothy Anderson reigned
as Goddess of Agriculture.
Big event of May was, per
usual. Ivy Day. Janet Hemphill
and Polly Petty were elected as
twin May Queens, and fifteen
junior women became proud wear
ers of the black and gold of Mortar
Board. The Theta's won Ivy Day
sing.
News of this week is the Corn-
husker, which comes out today, on
time, and the new staffs of the
Nebraskan and Cornhusker. And
exams!
