Group Offers
Literary Prize
A $100 prize is being offered for
the best essay on a pioneer, insti
tution, or incident of early Ne
braska history, by the Native Sons
and Daughters of Nebraska, ac
cording to contest chairman, Mrs.
Ora Clement of Lincoln.
Manuscripts should be from
3,000 to 5,000 words in length and
must be submitted before Septem
ber 15, 1944, to Mrs. Clement,
1730 C street.
The winning article is to be
acceptable for publication in the
Prairie Schooner, university lit
erary magazine, edited by Dr
L. C. Wimberly. Judges, in ad
dition to Dr. Wimberly, will be
Dr. J. L. Sellers of the history
department, and Mrs. Norma Kidd
Green, Lincoln book reviewer.
June Dunn, Pat Tobin, Laurine
Hanson and Vonne Milton.
A banquet honoring the now
initiates will be held at the Corn
htisker Thursday. Mary Lou Holtz
is in charge of the banquet.
