Nebraska Fails to Gain. Nebraska took over on their own 28, and after three unsuccess ful tries at the line, Hollins punted to the 47, where Nebraska recov ered a fumble, but the ball was called back with both sides off side. Hollins booted again, and Eager brought Larson down after he had returned a long one to the 26, but this play was called back too, on nullifing penalties. On the next play, Hollins managed to get off a long quick kick to the Iowa 39. Eager stopped" Larson after he picked up 4 yards around end Gallagher tried the center on the next play, but lost the ball, and Ellyson fell on it for Nebraska The Huskers took over, and in three tries made the first down of the game, with 9 playing min utes gone. Larson Goes Through Center. However, Terrell intercepted t Kenfield pass and returned it to his own 43 yard line, to begin what endd in the initial scoring drive of the game. After the Hawkeyes . kicked off to the Huskers, the Nebraska boys twice had to defend their goal, as the Iowans recovered fumbles deep in Husker territory. But, they could not stave off the Hawkeyes, and after taking a punt from the Nebraska 47, the Hawkeyes rolled up their second marker with Terrell doing the lug ging. After making a urst down to the 34, the speedy Iowan took the ball from center, and loped around his own right end to elude three would-be tacklers and score. Barbour again converted, and the scoreboard read: Nebraska 0, Iowa 14. Huskers Tally. The Cornhuskers came roaring back, and after an exchange of intercepted passes, and a couple of tries at the line, Kenfield faded back and shot a long pass which besran on the 45 to Hollins who outraced the Iowa secondary and gathered the ball in on the 20 and ran to the 1 yard line before being stopped. On the next play Kenfield took the ball from cen ter on a quarterback sneak, and shoved himself over for the first Husker tally. Hill converted. The score: Nebraska 7, Iowa 14. With but three and a half min utes of the first half remaining, Nebraska kicked off to the Iowans. who returned to their own 36. Second Half. At the opening of the second half, Gaiter kicked off to Terrell who ran the ball back up to the 27 before Salisbury stopped him hard. The Huskers got a break when Bert Gissler intercepted a juggled lateral intended for Ter rell on the Iowa 18. Hollins sparked the play, and v-"nt driv ing all alone to the 5 yard line. On the next play, Hollins drove over to score, but the ball was called back on a offside penalty. Ellyson then was tossed for an other loss of 5, and Gaiter trying one in the flat just couldn't con nect. Hollins then drove for 4 yards over center. On the next play, Gaiter faded back and rifled a left hand pass to Schneider on the two, and he punched the ball over the remaining distance for the score. NeDraska 13, Iowa 14. The Iowans then took over for the remainder of the game, and with Gallagher and Terrell alter nating on ripping the" Husker line, drove across three more touch downs to decision the Nebraskans for their first win of the season for the Hawkeyes, 33 to 13.
