I heard this little number this
morning in Bizorg. class. I was
bo tired out I couldn't understand
it so I reprim it here that some
one who does understand it will
tell me.
"Its the one about the absent
minded professor who died of grief.
It seems that when he hid his face
in his hands he forgot where he
put it." A joke like that at 8:30
in the morning make a guy want
to take his toys and go home.
Ah. but not to the usual short
tour of the campus. The AOPi
house, h-mmm, nice house, nice
girls, nice furniture, Kay Hanley,
yep, nice place. Helen Freeborn
and Jerry Jiroc, Kappa Sig, start
the steady list, closely followed
by Betty Bontbright and Jim
Wagner, along with Helen Greusel
and Bob Lynn.
Newcomer Shines.
You know there is a newcomer
at the Chi Omega house who is
sure to go places and do things
in a social way on this campus, j
To me she has already done two
things:
1. She has answered to the
name of Betty Jean Hatch.
2. She brought this little poem
into being. She rates a better
discription but this ish the best
I can do.
Now there's B. J.
Hay, hay!
What a gal
Not like Sal.
More like Lil
Yet still . . .
What a gal.
Maybe She's Right.
The Thetas will tell you that
they are not the least bit snooty
or egotistical. But once I had a
date with a Theta and we got
along line until I took her to the
door. She.tumed to me then and
said:
"You know, you have had an ad
vantage over me all evening."
I didn't know what to think,
but asked, "What makes you
think so?"
You've been in better company
than I have."
You know some of the best
arguments on this campus have
airsen between boys and girls who
have gotten sentimental and ex
changed pictures. Boys don't care
much and when they agree to dis
agree the boys just forget about
it, buy another picture and call
another house. .
But Definitely.
Ah, but not girls. They want
their picture back and pronto.
They lose all self-respect, about
half their friends, and a lot of
sleep in their effort to get the pic
ture returned. They'll even go to
the pr esident of the house, and ask
for his help.
Well, I brought this up, so I
might tell you boys how a friend
of mine coped with the situation.
He decided to squelch her for all
time. He gathered up all the pic
tures of girls available and sent
them to her with the following
note.
Tick yours out, I've forgotten
what you look like."
Now Marv Atheny and Julie
Frazee walk on opposite sides of
the street, while Bob James, ATO
and Mary Jean Jones are passing
the cigars and candy tonight.
Only a Coke Date But .
It was only a coke date but
Warner Stevens. ATO and Jean
York, Theta certainly make a nice
couple. Same goes for Jerry Aben
house, FH and Jessie Moore, DG.
The Kappa house is kind of sad.
Virginia Ford is quitting school
and June Jamie.son is sick m bed.
Sorry for both of 'em, but can't do
any thing for either.
And we might mention here
that new Fiji pledge Tommy
Hayes, besides being about the
best all-round frosh athlete, also
possessess a million buck grin,
muscles aplenty, and curley hair.
One at a time, gals!

Dangles from Parachute.
The story of the heroic rescue
Sunday of an army cameraman
who dangled unconscious from a
fouled parachute 9,000 feet in the
air was revealed by Lt. H. Finch,
public relations officer at the
Kirkland air field.
Flying at 9,000 feet the plan
hit an air pocket and Private New
ell was tossed halfway out of the
bomb bay door. His parachute
opened and then fouled on the
plane threatening to pull him out.
Cadet Luke, seeing that Newell
had lost consciousness and wm
powerless to help himself, swung
his lgs over a bracing bar, and
hanging head down, cut Newells
chute loose and dragged him back
to safety.
