8 DAILY NEBRASKAN Friday, December 18, 1943 Society... a BY MARY LOUISE GOODWIN. Comes another week end and with it bromo, alka and all the other seltzers needed to insure a eood time. At least there will be plenty of escapes offered this war minded campus to relax and en joy what may be the last intact week end for the duration. Now let's ret started on what rooks and from what we hear there are lots of things on the fire For instance, a pinning that was and wasn't at the same time caused a few flames to shoot up all around. The pin in question is the Fiji badge of Nonie Anderson. It was all a big mistake, he had it on all the time but his sweater was so dark no one could see it. The ATO dine and dance party tonight will see the renewal of an old friendship which was really on the fire about a year ago. It's that of Tau Bob Olson and Chi O Dorothy Carnahan. We hear by way of the grape vine that one Tau. Bill Munson. is seriously con sidering parting with his pin and the girl in the case is another Chi O. Dorothy Elack. He has at least four dates with her this week. . . . Also taking the Tau dance will be Bob Buxton and Triple Delt Anne Stevens, and Pat Hunting of the same place and Eill Gayer. Sig Alphs Feast Dates. The Sig Alphs will treat their dates to a tuffet supper and dance at the house Saturday eve and H sounds like one of those "a good time was had by all" affairs. Louis Seybold will sup with Alpha Chi Janet Kason; Jim Weesner. one of the eligible bachelors, will bring as usual Alpha Phi pledge Betty Jo Leadley; and Bobby Cooper will be there with Chi O Marion Trulhsen. They 11 also take in the Chi O formal. The Chi O dinner dance Friday night will be held at the sorority house and the girls will be dressed formally but the boys will not wear formal attire. It will be a closed affair. Theta Billie Anderson was off last night for St Louis to visit the lad who wons those golden wings she wears. He's the boy who's been running up the telephone bill call ing her from Florida, Washington and St Louis this week. Over at the Lincoln Hotel the Sig Chia will hold their annual din ner dance which all the girls like to go to because they give created jewelry instead of corsages. And by the way watch for the an nouncement of this year's Sweet heart of Sigma Chi. Going to the party ao that they'll know first hand who the lucky girl is will be Fred McLefferty and AOPi Charlotte Hitr: Rodney Roberts and Theta Katy Anderson; Bob Black and Pi Phi Mabel Jean Schmer; and Don Patterson with Mary Vernik, Kappa. Virginia Branting. Tri Delt, the girl who was chosen to become an engineering cadet for the Curtis Wright corporation, received a bracelet yesterday from her one and only who is a first looie in the army. 18-Year Old Draft Groups Register Thru December The director of admissions of fice has announced that 49 UN students registered for the draft last week.
