term. Inability of league clubs
side competition makes the problem of choosing an all-league
team difficult. . Every team had certain standouts and those
standouts comprise our unoffiical club.
Hard-hitting Dub Lamb
severer, Marv Thompson of Nebraska, are the end choices. For
tackle consideration we offer Bernie Pepper, Mizzou's line
bulwark, and Vic Schleich, Husker line mainstay. Mizzou's Fitz
gerald and Monford, an Oklahoma toughy, head the guard
brigade. For pivot laurels,,
Xebraska's own rampant red -
Ray Evans, Wildcat passing wizard, quarterbacks our
eleven. Ground gainer de luxe, Bob Steuber of Mizzou, teams
with Oklahoma's Huel Hamm at the halfback posts. Fullback
duties fall to Hard-hitting Paul Darling cf Iowa State.
This "mythical" eleven is presented with two fore
warnings: First, the Big Six season lacks one Saturday of
completion. Second, competition was so close for several spots
that a veritable coin-flip decided the issue.
