Let Mr. Ware rave, rant, and chew his wicked verbal to
bacco. As Mr. Ware sat scowling at his typewriter in a home
bound car, a rank presentation of Shakespeare unraveled in the
adjoining diner as the Husker gridders rode the rails home from
Chicago.
Titled "Shmeegie-Shmeegie, Whose Got the Shmeegie"
the play marked the annual bow of the soph team members be
fore the board lights. Title of the play wa inspired by those
two shmeegie-eaters Marv Thompson and Fred Metheny and
"prespired" by practically every member of the soph roster.
Ihilliant in the cast was Joe (Errol Flynn) Partington who
assumed the role of Joe Ryler for the production. "Bloody Joe"
exhibited all of Flynn's oomph as he exploited the big tackle's
famous peeks at the coaching bench, plus several rare Byler
witticisms. Al Grubaugh utilized previous experience with the
Rising City Theatrical Aces to play the role of Glen Presnell.
A highlight of the production featured Grubaugh, Bert
Gissler (as Lewendowski), and Harold Ilungerford (as Elmer
Holm) in a rendition of the Humpty-Dunipy scene at the Kansav
fray. Holm's intense excitement caused him to leap off terra
firma, catching a wire on his heel during the leap.
Said wire happened to undermine Mentor Presnell 's chair
and consequently Presnell & chair flew high and wide. Panto
mine by Gissler, Grubaugh & Co. gave the scene All added
touches required of bona fide humor, i
We cant duplicate here any dialogue from the production
without our favorite burlesque interpreter, Slimey Sam Snail
So we must settle this review by saying there was more salt in
the play than even our beloved Salt Flais could hold.
What Mr. Ware termed "the weakest team ever to repre
sent Nebraska" can redeem itself Saturday by virtue of a vic
tory over the Iowa Seahawks. Victory over Bierman's boys re
calls vividly the David-Goliath tale.
Seahawk record to date consists of victories over such no
tables as Northwestern, Minnesota, MicKgan, and Indiana. No
tre Dame handed the Bierman club its sole defeat but in turn
the Biermaw Hub tripped Michigan and Michigan topped No
tre Dame. All this sums up the conclusion that the Seahawks
can't be ranked lower than fifth among the nation's grid giants.
Included within the Seahawk roster are a flock of "name"
performers worthy of attention anywhere. Look 'em over:
George Paskvan and Ed Jankowski of Wisconsin; Forest Eva
shevski of Michigan ; Mai Kutner of Texas; Babe LeVoir. Char
Icy Sohultz, George Svcndson, and George Flick of Minnesota;
Dick Fisher, Jim Langhurst and Charley Keam of Ohio State.
Instead of "the painful campaign nearing its unimpressive
end" as WaWre affectionately puts it, were pulling for those
Huskers to rally from the depths and exhibit new fire Saturday.

Squad changes released yester
day by Mentor Glenn Presnell re
vealed the most astonishing news
of the. year in the Cornhusker
camp.
In face of the injury epidemic,
Presnell "cooked up" an entirely
new varsity backfield. Ki Eisen
hart, regular fullback, was shifted
to quarterback Al Grubaugh, nor
mally a sub tackle, was inserted
at right half; Roy Long retained
his left halfback post; and Wally
Hopp was advanced from second
to first string fullback.

there is no longer any element of
mystery as to the sum outcom.
By tripping the fifth place Jay
hawks of Kansas, Missouri can
officially assume possession of the
title next Saturday. The Tigers
faltered against plucky Oklahoma
last week and landed in a 6-6 tie.
Top conference game Saturday
is the Cornhusker-Seahawk battle
at Iowa City. Iowa State battles
point-shy Kansas State at Man
hattan, Missouri meets Fordham
at New York, and Oklahoma
meets Temple in Philadelphia.

Oklahoma's iron-willed Sooners
whipped Missouri's Big Six cham
pions in statistic figures and dead
locked them 6 to 6 In the scoring
column in a thrilling conference
struggle before 20,000 homecom
ing fans this afternoon.
Toiling virtually for the full
route, the Sooner forwards solved
Missouri's conbustive "T" forma
tion for three consecutive periods
but yielded a tie to Steuber and
mates as Ervin Pitt3 rammed the
middle for a touchdown in closing
minutes. Sooner Bill Campbell sec
ondary whirlwind blocked a Steu
ber punt late in the second quar
ter and Eddie Davis bulled over
before the half gun for the Okla
homa score.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Nov. 14.
Indiana's Billy Hillenbrand
treaded 77 yards on a spectacular
touchdown run, to spotlight the
Hoosiers rout of weak Kansas
State here this afternoon as Bo
McMillan's reserves pounded the
Wildcats into submission, 54 to 0.
Touchdowns were reeled off in
every period but the second with
Capt Bob White leading the wild
scoring with two goal dirt blasts.
Huskers Ready
For Iowa Hawks
Husker gridmen reviewed
plays yesterday as they opened
preparations for the oncoming
fray with the Iowa Seahawks.
Following the dismal show
ing at Pitt, the Huskers are de
termined to come back against
the Seahawks. If they top the
Iowa part-pro, part-amateur
eleven, a miracle will remain in
the offing.
Seahawk strength is ai a low
ebb since Bernie Bierman re
cently saw half- his gridders
graduate. However, the crippled
condition of the squad demotes
any large degree of Husker optimism.
