ftidcry, October 9, 1942 DAILY NEBRASKAN LifeMagazine Declines UN Scrap Story Contrary to the hopes of the JVar Council and the Student Union, sponsors of the univer sity scrap drive in cooperation with Innocents Society, "Life", popular pictorial magazine, will not be able to cover the campus drive for metal and rubber. In answer to a telegram invit ing a staff photographer to visit the campus, "Life" telegraphed: "Sorry, can't cover. But it's a Dean C. W. Poynter Speaks at Nu Med Monthly Banquet Nu-med club members heard an address by Dr. Poynter, dean of the NU medical school in Omaha, following their monthly banquet held Wednesday night in the Union. Dr. Poynter answered many wonderful idea, and have fun"! In connection with the present nationwide salvage drive, this magazine recently ran a lengthy article on the merits of the "Ne braska . plan" for salvaging scrap, as they called it. Patterson Starts Discussion Series The University group of the Westminster of Youth will start a series of discussions with Dr. Charles H. Patterson as the leader. The general subject of the series is "The Great Religions of the World." Next Sunday evening the sub ject will be "Shintoism," one of the leading religions of Japan. These discussions are held at 5:30 o'clock in the church office. They are followed by a Fellowship sup per hour and the eventide worship. For the worship service Dr. M. V.
