t Busy Time.
Well, well, so everyone is going
to be pretty busy this weekend
with parties, rally, homecoming
and of course the Corn Cob-Tassel
party. . .This is really complicated,
for Kuth Brickell, Chi O. She
used to go with Bonny Kaholt,
Thi Delt, and will continue to do
so, probably, if he gets there in
time. He, Benny, fixed Kuth up
with a date with Thi Delt Dick
Chapen last Friday and then dou
ble dated with them. Saturday
Benny had a date with Ruth and
they double dated with Dick. Now
Dick has a date with Ruthy for
the Corn Cob-Tassel party and
last night Benny called her up and
asked her for one to said Satur
day party. This is worse than a
triangle. . .Was it their love for a
game of bridge that took Jane
Emery and Joyce Jirdon, DG
pledges, over to the SAE house
the other afternoon? We have
our doubts. . .
Odds and Ends.
Tonight Woodie Herman will
draw the kids out to the Tike.
There will be Shirley Heldt, Alpha
Phi, and Millard Cluck, SAK; Pat
Catlin, KKG, with Phi Psi Bert
Smith; Georgia Covey, Alpha Phi,
and Ed Calhoun, ATO innocent:
Lois Baker with Bob Hudson: and
Alpha Phi Marcy Bauer with Phi
Gam Al O'Connor. . .This must be
something more than just a pass
ing flare that causes a certain Ne
braska City fellow to come down
EVERY weekend to see Kathleen
McGowen of Cox hall ... Missing
out on the fun, on this campus, this
Friday and Saturday will be Thcta
Marie Anderson. She is going
down to Fort Sill to visit Don Fitz
...His record is broken. Dave
Marvin would have celebrated his
fourth month of bachelorhood to
night if he hadn't taken Fern Wil
terdink to the show Wednesday. . .
Seems that Alice Ann Hascall, DG,
is still burning the Omaha high
way each weekend this year. She
goes up to see a Mr. Bob Bttt
ncr. . .
Corn Cob-Tassel Party.
Pep Queen candidates and their
escorts to the Corn Cob-Tassel
party will be Barbara Jones, Alpha
Phi, and Beta Johnny Edwards;
Janet Hemphill, Pi Phi, and Dee
Deputren, DU; Dinny Ford, Kap
pa, and Perry Fuller, ATO; Mary
Helen Farrar, Theta, and Fred
Melheny, Phi Delt; and Betty
Klingel, Alpha Xi Delt, with her
Delta sig... Among the thousands
who are planning to attend the
Corn Cob-Tassel party Saturday
are Maribel Hitchcock, Theta, and
Buck Buchanan who is coming
from Omaha; Mary Ellen Beech-

Nash, SAE; Marian Warnke of
Howard hall and John Wagers;
Phyllis Dodge of the dorm and
George Abbott; Helen Johnson DG
pledge cover girl of the Awgwan,
and Richie Anderson. . .And Bob
Fast, SAE, will celebrate his sec
ond date of the year with Mary
StribJing, Alpha Phi...
Tonight's Houseparty.
The Phi Delt houseparty will see
these couples dancing to Johnny
Cox; Lois Drake, Chi O, and Lyl'e
King; Jo Durce, and Bud Boyden;
Mary Louise Goodwin, Pi Phi, and
Nick Douvas; and Jean Carnahan,
Chi O prexy, with Bud Krygcr.
Jean is engaged to Phi Delt Dick
Hyatt and Bud Kryger is waiting
for Blanche Riddle, Theta, who
was in school last year, so they arc
going together until their respec
tive boy and girl friends return,
just as good friends. . .
Tomorrow Night.
Attending the ATO dance will
be newly married Bob and Doro
thy Windle. Bob and Dorothy
weie m school last year and Doro
thy is affectionately known to her
friends as Dotty Wind... Also at
tending the ATO party will be
Alpha Chis Jerry Buller and Bob
Sandberg and Mary Mason with
Harvey Leif...Seens that Bernie
"Boogie" Bennett, SAE, has a
date with Dorothy Carnahan, Chi
O pledge, and doesn't know where
they will be going, yet. He can't
decide which will have the hot
test swing, Jay Shann or King's.
He should listen to the records in
the union grill, shouldn't he C. Cs.
and Tassels?...
A Few Questions.
The Delt party will be a big,
fun affair from all indications.
Bernie Buell, prexy, will be there
with Sue Shaw, Pi Phi, if they
get back alive from their hunting
trip. . .We don't know who "Buck"
Jones will be taking. Phyllis
Shaw's old flame will be back in
town and so the pinned couple
(she is pinned to Buck) have
agreed that she may spend all
three days with her former flame.
He is a Phi Psi who has been
away and is now on his way to
the Philippine Islands for some
years to come, Buck hopes. . .
