Helen Matz, HG, has gotten
ross and a cigaret case during
the last week from Max Weiland,
DlT, whose pin she gave back. In
addition he keeps the phone pretty
busy and is really trying to fix
things up. We hope they do.
Farm House Dale Weibel passed
cigars last night with Ardith
Hackman. The pin hanging pro
ceeding this new course of events
took place this summer.

Bob Sandberg, ATO, was over
heard to say "Going steady is
really only Social Security for the
goons running around." Now real

Chuck Edholm, DU, and Jean
Osborne, Theta, are definitely off
the steady list, while Betty Swen
holt, Chi O pledge, and Hartz
Goetz.e Phi Delt, have been hit
ting it off solidly.
At the Barb dance we saw
Marion Starlin, Towne club, and
Dean Heck; Marilyn Barr and Don
White, now a med student at Oma
ha; and Doris Westphal and
Charles Bitner, both of Towne
club. Doris and Charles had just
met, but they were certainly hav

Prof. Camp Presents
Paper at Math Meeting
Prof. Chester C. Camp of the
mathematics faculty spent five
weeks this summer at Princeton
university in the institute for ad
vanced study. He also carried on
research at Harvard university for
a month. Part of the results of
his work were presented in a
paper at the summer meeting of
the American Mathematical So
ciety held at the University of Chi
cago Sept. 2 to G. His paper
was titled "A convergence proof
involving an inseparable multiple
contour integral."
BABW Delays Plans
For All-Girl Party
Plans begun by the BABW
for the all-girl party have been
delayed, awaiting the advice of
the inter-club council, an organ
ization representative of all wom
en's groups on the campus.

Psi, and Ruth McMillan, Kappa
Alpha Theta, will broadcast camp
us news over Magee's dance pa
rade two nights a week, it was
announced last night.
Five students tried out for the
position, held by Margaret Krause
Wcllinger last year.
Harnsburger, an Innocent in
1940-41, is in law school at the
present time. Miss McMillan is a
member of the University Play
ers.

for volunteers to work with the

New staff members for the
Cornhusker Countryman were ap
pointed last Saturday morning at
a meeting of the ag college stu
dent publications committee.
Editor for the first semester,
will be Dale Theobald, former
chairman of the magazine's edi
torial committee. Associate edi
tors appointed are Eugene Smith
and Charles Marcy. Associate edi
tor in the home economics division
will be Carol Chapman.
William Hartnell was selected as
the new circulation manager for
the coming semester.
Dental Profs Speak
At District Meeting
Dr. D. C. Keys and Dr. G. W.
Ferguson, professors of the dental
college, will appear as guest
speakers at the Sioux City dis
trict dental society today.

This la a new opening for per
sons interested in activities and
the AWS board co-operating with
the men's point board will estab
lish a system of points that can
be earned by persons receiving ap
pointments on the committees.
Freshmen May Apply.
Five to fifteen positions are
open in each divjs'nn and fresh
men as well as upper classmen
are urged to apply at the union
office immediately and state their
preference as to committee work.
The publicity committee will ar
range for the distribution of sign
and make arrangement for
speaking tours, while the convo
cation committee will contact the
union speakers, have charge of the
speakers during their visit in Lin
coln, and arrange the student for
ums. A file of the union activity
workers will be kept and recom
mendations will be issued from

en positions in the future.
