Lincoln Journal.
Here is the team that is slated,
injuries barred, to take the field
against Nebraska's old rivals, Iowa
State on October 4 at Ames. They
are: Line, left to right; Fred Pres
ton, Fairbury; Clarence Herndon,
Grand Island; George Abel, Lin
coln; Fred Meir, Lincoln; Herb
vonGoetz, North Platte; Vic
Schleich, Lincoln; Bob Ludwick,
Lincoln. The backfield includes
Vike Francis, Lincoln; Marvin
Athey,' Wauneta; Allen Zikmund,
Ord; and Daie Bradley, Lincoln.
These 11 players are counted on
to play a lot of ball for the Husk
ers this fall, having had experience
to help them on. Of the entire out
fit only Athey and vonGoetz are
sophomores. There are fdwnr jun
iors and five seniors rounding out
the number one unit.
