Coach Ed Weir plans a slight shift in his mile and two milers. Bob Ginn win move tip from the 880-yard run into the mile and two-mile runs. Harlan Culwell will step down from the longer race to the mile. The remainder of the squad will be intact, except for Ralph King, sophomore hurdler, who is quar antined with the mumps. Eleven swimmers were named Thursday to face the University of Michigan, as Iowa State college plans were complete for the invasion of the national champions. Michigan will swim here Friday, t!ie meet opening at 7:30 p. m. in State gymnasium pool. Coach Charles McCaffree, for mer Wolverine varsity man, listed Capt. Roger Adams of Balboa Heights, C. Z., Dili Eosworth and Leonard Thomas in the 100 yard freestyle event, expected to be the feature of the tank program. Gus Sharemet of Michigan, na tional collegiate champion in the century sprint, is expected to bid for a world record in his appear ance against the Cyclones. He has covered the distance in 51.8 sec onds, only a shade above the 51 second world mark held by Johnny Weismullcr. Huskcr gymnasts meet Colorado Nebraska's gymnastic team will be host to the University of Colo rado gymnasts Saturday in the col iseum. Definite time has as yet not been pet. Coach Charlie Miller is still awaiting word from Boulder as to verification of a scheduled time. As it is, the match is slated for 2 p. m. but Miller is trying to get the meet moved up to 10 a. m. Saturday. Nebraska swim team toes mark tonight vs. Kansas Undefeated in five starts, Ne braska's swimming team engages Kansai in a meet in the coliseum tank Friday night at 8 p. m. This will be the fourth confer ence meet for the Huskers, having beaten Iowa State, Oklahoma and Kansas State last week. Coach Pete Hagelin plans to start the same lads who won the three meets for Nebraska last week. King, soph hurdler tripped by mumps, out for two weeks Ralph King, high hurdling sopho more from Waterloo, won and lost in two events Wednesday night. His victory was over the high jump field in the Husker-Kansas State dual track meet. King also placed second in the 70 yard high sticks. But the elongated hurdler lost another battle. A case of mumps tripped him and King stumbled over a so-called "injury" hurdle. What was thought to be a sore throat turned into the mumps, Thursday morning. King will now be on the inactive shelf for two weeks. The sophomore sensation will not be available for the Big Six indoor cinder meet in Kansas City on Mar. 1. Rounding out the members of the trip will be Les Livingston and John Hay, forwards; Hart mann Goetze, center; Lyle King and Max Young, guards. A Nebraska win would keep the Huskers in the Big Six cage race with a mathematical chance for a share in the crown. The Sooners are tied for third with Iowa State a half game behind the Scarlet five.
