Last night amid the snow and the breeze Ace Rawalt and Doris Halsted gratified the Sig Eps and the Alpha Thi's with a very fine candy passing. . .one of those long anticipated deals. . . If everyone who has going to the iwnc iaiwi iii iiuuu mere nian will be able to squeeze in... Johnny Dean and Duke Schatz will be .sporting Sigma Nu pins to the Tigge Dinner next Saturday night. . .they were initiated Sun day night. . . Harold Drcyer, Charles Fenter, Stanley Elsen, Erwin Klein, and Richard Lundgren are all new initiates of Beta Sigma Psi...the Beta Sigs also announce the pledg ing of Clarion Buethc and Van Harmon . . . On pledgings. . .the Acacias pledged recently Jack Lynch . . . Tolly Parmele, Pi Thi pledge, seems to have a military ball date with a phone call from Kansas City. . .which will interest a couple of local lads. . . Tom Ingles and Gamma Fhi prexy Mary Lauvitz are really finding that they have a very fine deal there... the only snag in the whole beautiful thing is that Tom my Ingles is off to be a soldier. . . something that this twosome has been dreading for the past month . . . cause they've just gone to gether about that long. . . Jim Beltzer has an idea on this Rose Bowl stuff... the Kappa Sig is heading for Seattle and an old love before heading for Pasadena ...locally he and Theta Barbara York seem to be getting along quite nicely... Olson and Rolf W. Ordal, graduate students in the history department, will be run. In addition to the interpretive column, Olson and Ordal will con tact professors for interviews about current problems in the fields in which they specialize. Oc casionally, book reviews and articles written by professors and obtained and edited by the two new staff members will be fea tured. "Last year, this type of column was used effectively, but until these two new men offered their services, we could not find anyone with a suitable background for this type of columns," said Nor man Harris, DAILY editor. "This new department was formed with the co-operation of the history de partment and with the hope of satisfying the many students in terested in contemporary history." 60 to attend annual dinner tonight Hanging of the Greens dinner will be held in Ellen Smith to night. Approximately 60 women students will attend this traditional gathering. After the court, par lors, and offices have been dec orated with the evergreens sent here from Estes park an informal supper will be served. Girls on UN singers present program of traditional Christmas carols Two shows scheduled Sunday Unusual and traditional Christ mas carols from many lands will be sung by the University singers when they appear Sunday in a Christmas concert in the Union ballroom. The chorus, composed of 60 voices, under the direction of Dr. A. E. Westbrook, will be ac companied by an electric organ and two brass quartets. This year's concert will keep the same spirit evidenced in the Christmas Rhapsody presented by the chorus last year. Two per formances of the program have been arranged, the first to begin at 2:30 p. m. and the second at 4 p. m. Since the seating capacity of the Union ballroom is restricted to 800 at each performance, free admission cards will be distributed in advance from the Union office. All who wish to attend the con cert must have a card, and a ticket will assure its holder of a seat.
