Fall election is bouncing ball j it bounds from councilXo council ' Students went to the polls Tues day. At least some of them did. Only there were no polls. And no election. For tliree weeks now, the ques tion of a new election of junior and senior class presidents and the member of the prom com mittee has been tossed from coun- Kil to council and from commit tee to committee. Each body woul.l take some action upon the thing. Some decided that the first elec tion was illegal. Finally, the Stu dent Council decreed that there should be a new election and set last Tuesday as the date. A bouncino ball. A day later, barb leaders ap pealed the Council decision to the university faculty committee, a group of faculty members who have final jurisdiction in such mat ters. Once the problem of having a new election had been brought under that group's jurisdiction, all action by student groups stopped The committee didn't get around to meeting before Tuesday of this week because of vacations, leav ing the matter undecided on the day set for election. There was no use in the Council scheduling a new election because they didn't know if it was legal or not de pending upon the action of faculty committee. Yesterday, that com mittee decided that it will meet and decide the thing finally this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. Nothing can be promised. There may be a new election. If there is, the date is still undecided. Engineers get federal jobs Deane Jenkins and Kieth Vrana, former students in the engineering college, are now employed in gov ernment work.
