The beating Kansas took Satur
day was the worst one suffered by
the Jayhawkers in the Kansas-Nebraska
series.. . .This was the 47th
game of the Kansas-Nebraska
meetings and the Jayhawkers are
in their 75th anniversary year of
football. . . .
fclwyn Dees, Nebraska trainer,
was a former Kansas fullback and
right good one.. ..The fans gave
"El" a hand, too.... A cheer to re
member is the Rock-Chalk, Jay
Hawk, K Uuuuuuuu chant.... It
raises even the hair on the neck of
a Nebraskan.. ..
Bob Sauer, sophomore and
young brother of AU-American
George, was a spotter for a radio
announcer in the Kanvas game. . . .
Hermie Rohrig, ace Husker half
back, was at the game but was not
in suit.... His shoulder injury re
quired rest. . . .
Before the game, both univer
sities' bands marched and played
together The Husker band
played the "Bells of St Mary's"
between the halves In an impres
sive manner.. ..It will, be given
again in a repeat performance at
the Missouri game....
Don Pierce, Kansas center who
plays in the goggles, was taken
out of the game because of the
heat, not an injury as was first re
ported.. . .
One consolation Kansas recalls
about Nebraska is that the Jay-
hawk basketballers can always
more than handle their own when
they meet the Huskers on the cage
court....
Fullbacks lead the Husker scor
ing.... Wayne Blue, sophomore,
tops all counting with 18 points.
. . .Hank-Rohn, junior, has marked
up 14 points, while Vike Francis Is
third in the scoring column with 8
points.
For Jitterbugs, Harry "Pop"
Hopp and Henry Rohn can take a
front row seat... At the Cornhus
ker dance in the Kansas Student
Union after the game, Hopp and
Rohn put on a real show for the
natives... .One piece, the "Indian
War Chant," was dedicated to
them and the two Husker backs
set the floor on fire for about four
minutes of 'bugging....
Three Missourians are among
the first four top Big Six scorers
to date.. .Incidentally, Paul Christ
man is not one of the trio.... An
end, Bob Steuber, sophomore, leads
the whole conference pack with 24
points... .Harry Ice, able substi
tute for Christman is second, while
Bill Cunningham, fullback, is
fourth in the scoring.. . .
Dr. H. C. Gossard, dean In
charge of curricula at eastern New
Mexico college, has just finished
a study on what professors do in
their spare time.

game, Coach Biff Jones announced

Yesterday's workout comprised
mainly in running dummy plays
against the frosh by the first and
second teams. The varsity squad
was in full sweat clothes regalia.
Pictures shown.
Pictures of the Kansas-Nebraska
clash were shown prior to the
scrimmage. Back in the center of
the line of the first team again
was Burruss while Hermie Rohrig
was in the backf ield unit on the
first eleven.
Other than those two changes,
the first two teams were intact
as of before the Kansas game.
Jack Vincent's work against the
Jayhawks earned him a share in
the left halfback slot with Dale
Bradley on the third team.
