Local theaters feature new fall pictures;
comedies, adventure stories predominate
With more theaters running at
full capacity than Lincoln haa
peen for several years, and with
all of the local cinema houses fea
turing the big pictures of the early
fall spason, student movie fans re
turning to school can find almost
any type of entertainment their
taste demands.
At the new Varsity the old
Liberty made over by a complete
face lifting job, Ilay Milland and
Ixnetta Young are starring In
Columbia's "The Doctor Takes a
Wife." The film tells the story
of a man who doesn't believe in
career women and then accident
nlly marries one. He finally falls
in love after almost tangling in
a lot of unpleasant newspaper
publicity. The combination of ca
reer woman versus career man
makes for one of the gayest com
edies of the fall season.
At the Lincoln. Clark Cable,
Ppencer Tracy, Claudetle Colber'
and Heddy Lamarr are still pack
ing in the customers for "Boom
Town," current saga of the devel
opment of the oil fields. Gable
plays a hard-boiled oil field worker
as though the part were written
for him. Tracy, Colbert and La
marr also turn in excellent per
formances to make the picture
tops in entertainment.
At the Stuart Errol Flynn is
Btarring in Warner's "Sea Hawk.
The picture, a swashbuckling story
of privateering on the high seas
is another of the series character
izing Flynn as a typical Robin
Hood. For an adventure picture,
the "Sea Hawk" ranks high in the
Flynn series which included "Cap
tain Fury" and "Captain Blood."
New feature at the Nebraska
theater starting today is "Gold
Rush Maizie," starring Ann Soth
ern in the title role. Second fea
ture at the Nebraska is "Waterfront."
"Torrid Zone," starring James
Cagney and Ann Sheridan has
been moved to the Kiva from the
new Varsity. If you like the Cag
ney pictures you will probably like
"Torrid Zone" as it is typical
Cagney.

FRESHMEN! Here's One Rule
Not In The Book
YOU may have to wear a freshman cap, but
there's no rule against wearing Arrow
shirts. No doubt you've discovered by this
time that more college men wear Arrow shirts
than any other brand shirt. There are reasons:
The superb Arrow collar, the Mitoga cut, the
anchored buttons, and the permanent fit (San-forizcd-Shrunk,
fabric shrinkage less than
1). All these extra values plus authentic
styling are yours for the small sum of $2.
Buy a stack of Gordon oxfords as a starter
you'll never regret it
ARROW SHIRTS
