Iff 1- " -J Short and sweet is the theme for hair styles this spring, with the bulk of the hair placed higher than the neckline, but not on top of the head. Agnes Schmitt, nationally known hair stylist, predicts that hair will be cut much shorter, three and one-half to four and one-half inches in length, and worn in soft loose curls, well rounded to the head. "This season, more than ever," warns Miss Agnes, president of the Nebraska State Board of Cosmetology, "hair styles may, and must, be suited to the in dividual." Femininity, tofc, is an outstanding trend to be noted and considered. There are fewer set curls, more soft waves. Greater em phasis is placed upon the na tural beauty of the hairline. As in grandmother's time, hair must get its 50 brush strokes a day and more if necessary to make it look well-groomed. The New York World's Fair has had some influence on fem inine topknots, the coiffure guild of New York predicts a more streamlined silhouette for day time, with more waves and fewer curls. World's Fair colors of orange and blue are echoed in this spring's stylish hair tints. Ultra-feminity is back it's effective-beware, Joes it's 'pastel it's contagious, Sky-blue pink may sound like nonsense, but it's an excellent description of a new kind of makeup, whose beau-catching powers are far from being non sensical. It is soft and natural looking and has that ultra-feminine quality that, combined with this spring's fluffy fashions, seems simply to knock the gents for a scries of loops. Catches the male eye. Heading the list is the newest lipstick color, a soft rosy, nat ural looking pink.
