THURSDAY, MAUCII 23, 1939 DAILY NEBRASKAN ELEVEN Best dressed girls have hobbies, too Betty for her inexpensive Imt inclusive wardrobe which con tains three formals a white satin, a pink net, and a char treuse chiffon. Joining the newest craze, kite flying, she is seen in a black box-pleated skirt and striped shirtmaker blouse. Sophistication plus little-girl styles make dark-haired Marjorie Lindquist of Tri Dolt very attractive. She likes sad dle shoes, anklets, and hair bows to be worn with skirts and sweaters in pastel shades such as chartreuse, pink and French blue. Aside from lockets or pe'dants, Marj doesn't like jew elry. Hright, swishy formals with yards and yards of skirt catch her fancy. Marj Barnett Likes Sports Wear. Marj Barnett, does not particularly like feminine clothes, choosing sports wear for the campus. The fashion lead of the year, pastels, have made a hit with her, and she loves roseberry, hyacinth, maize, and gold. Simplicity in dress is Kappa's Betty Jane Hopewell's motto, and this is the way she attains the smartness found in all of her ensembles. If a model were needed for classic sports hats, Betty would receive nomination for first choice as she has the type of feaures ideal under snap brims, sailors, and rollers. "With summer in the offing, she will be wearing cool, crisp linens in white or French blue. For these warm days, Kappa Delt Dorothy Svoboda has chosen a navy crepe skirt zipping onto a white sheer blouse and accents the neckline with a cyclamen bow and hat. A Jane Engel print in gray and pink is worn by Phi Mu Mary Jane llaney. She looks quite romantic with a straw hat of navy trimmed with candy box bows. Favoring spring picnics as the real kind of sport, Ruthie Stephens, Chi Omega's candi date, wears feminine things in preference to strictly tailored. Shades of blue are her favorite colors in clothes, but pastels come in for their share of at tention. Ruthie spends her spare time in the right kind of weather playing tennis and swimming, and in any kind of weather, she makes a hobby of collecting bracelets and perfume bottles.
