Very unusual in a black coat a white flake stripe and a gold suede off the face hat and purse to match is Betty Jean Turner, Alpha Chi. Out of the latest issue of Vogue is Maxine Kingsley, Delta Gam, in a black pin stripe ree fer. She adds a pill box of black straw and white gloves. A variation of the polo coat is the light-colored wool reefer of Olive Spieth, Tri Delta. Single brested and mannish-style, it has no fit. Ernie Jones, latest passer of the sweets at the D. G. house, holds her man with a fuschia coat, navy dress and mixed accessories. The little girl trend- SliUONS Ye petticoat drops down into view Townsend Studio. Fluffy and frothy is the white chiffon net decorated with blue leaves and worn over a white celanese taffeta slip, that RUTH IK STEPHENS, Chi Omega's candidate for I'.est-Dressed Girl, wears on springy evenings. The neckline and drop-shoulder effect are emphasized with white niching. lUithie ,wears a gardenia clip in her hair and a seabloom bracelet, one of the Miriam Haskell Series jewelry shown in sets of necklaces, bracelets, and clips, at Simon's. Jewelry may now contain perfume So she may have perfume wherever she goes, a new more lasting form of "perfume" jew elry has been introduced to waft the scent around. Innocent looking enamel flow ers with fine gold mesh centers hide a pad of cotton saturated with her favorite perfume In the hollow behind the center of the flower, letting the odor escape through the mesh. Another tidbit . . . Ixw waist lines are coming back, but . . . belts are not to be worn on the hips as was the popular fad in 1928. There will be a basque detail that will probably go far below your normal waistline. Princess lines and visible pet ticoats are the important fea tures of Ben Simon's new spring dresses. Lace petticoats or bright-colored ones add life to a dark dress, arc quite the thing and very effective on a dance floor or on a March day. All dresses must have flared skirts which are more flattering to hip lines. Jacket dresses in the new duco-dot or shepherd check and with wool jackets in contrasting colors can be used for dates or sport. The jackets may also be worn with separate skirts. Checks add variety Bengaline lapels are definitely new on spring coats as are lace cuffs. They come in black, navy and some of the high colors and are either single or double breasted. All coats have the flared skirts. Nets, laces, marquisettes and combinations of these are the principle features of the formals this spring. Loud and pastel shades are in order with flowing skirts and jackets definitely a part of all. I is?
