Just to go her one better, we thought up at least a dozen ways to while away the time on absolutely nought funds. 1. You might try just sitting in the lounge at the Student IT. cool ing off your heels and watching the people go by. People, you'll find, are awfully much fun to ob serve, especially if you play games with yourself like imagining how many fillings they have in their teeth, what town they came from, or where in h they bought that hat. Twenty to one you'll be wrong every time. 2. Theft there's that old standby of walking in the rain. The way things have been this year you can I practically depend upon the atmos phere whenever you feel in a rainy mood. If no atmosphere appears, just wait until the street sprinkler makes his nightly trip down soror ity row, and presto chango, with a little imagination, there you are, all set, rain and everything. 3. Then there's sleep. It's dirt cheap and sort of gives you a lift that other things never can, even Camels. And, if you feel really devilish some day, you might cut your seven o'clock and just gloat at your roommate. With all those Ideas to start with, you ought to have a whee of j a time all by yourself, or if not all by yourself, at least with no ! money. So while we're speaking of the things to do, we might tell yoj how very, very often a most at tractive girl named Jan Dougherty and a Phi Psi from the Beta house who wanders over her way lots I and lots nowadays just sit and talk for hours and hours. Or at least night said Phi Psi Mushed furious ly when we saw him removing traces in a hall mirror. I This doesn't have much to doi with summer school, but to men- tion the football men again (al ways our pride and joy), the eve ning paper one day last week sur- j prised us so that we nearly drank two cups of coffee. There was a picture right on the front page of Bernie Masterson (remember him?) and his affianced. They took the final step on firecracker day. Wow!
