0 TWO THE NEBKASK AN, TUESDAY. JU1SE 14, 1938. as By MARY ANNA COCKLE It's really surprising how much fun summer school can be and how many people have turned up to take a few hours. There's not the tension that is found during the winter; the activity struggle is for gotten; people have settld down to take things more in their stride. Happened into Ginny Clemens the other day buzzing about in her tan coupe and incidentally griping because Bob Armstrong has a job someplace west of Grand Island. Elmer Bauer is just about in the same boat as ever since Vivian Esse left town with his pin, he has been the ring leader of a growing bachelor's club. Speaking of Elmer and Phi Gam 3 and such reminds me of a story Paul Brazelton tells about himself. It seems that after the last Fiji house party everyone found circumstances difficult for pettling down to a night's sleep. So Paul called someone he had been dating for some time and pro ceded to serenade her over the tele phone on an instrument which had seen more musical moments. This lasted about two hours which sounds even worse than that Butcher Boy piece people spend good hard earned nickels for in the Student U gnu. Don't know just how we man aged to get on this subject, but probably you've noticed Howard Linen (B. M. O. C, of course) doing the rounds, and we really mean it this time, with a little ultra brunette. Friday night they took in the mixer and the gal con sented to warble with the orches tra for one short sweet one. Now we re going to tell you about Betty Groth's true love, who has been with her nearly every night this past week and we can prove it. He leaves soon for R. O T. C. camp and he's going to send her dowers. He wants her to stay as sweet as she is. And of course he never tells this to other girls. His first name is Larry. You guess. Marj. Dirks, besides causing Bob Howe no end of worries over her welfare and to be perfectly frank, her whereabouts most of the time, has pretty well taken over the Beta house and all that is in it If you cared to take the time to check up, you would find quite a conglameration at the deah ole Beta Theta Pi domicile. At least three A. T. O's, two Phi Gam's, two or three Phi Delt's, two Sig Alph's and of course even a few- Beta's have set up stakes for the summer. Ought to keep Marj pretty busy. Saturday night, she turned up with three escorts, but phe still can't account for the rest of her men. And with that we leave you un til next Tuesday, but just as i parting shot, picture Clayton An keny still wandering about look Ing for picnic spots. Evidently getting some good ones lined up for this fall. Townsend Studio is extending Cornhusker prices on any of their popular styles to summer school students. Studio 226 So. 11.
