stands Mortar Board, national

their scholarship, active work in
organizations, and leadership. The
highest goal for all activity
women, Mortar Board remains the
inspiration of freshman girls in
terested in activities thruout their
work in the various organizations
on the campus.
Since joining the national so

1937 Renovation
During Summer
Both the 1937 Husker and the
place where he dwells were adorned
In a new garb this year.
An army of shirtless, sun tanned
college men, worked most of the
summer shaving, sanding and
painting the wooden seats in the
stadium to lesson the wear and
tear on the fan. All seats were re
numbered and charted.
The entire stadium was given
an overhauling, painting the nec
essary portions. On both the play
ing and practice fields worked a
squad of gardeners, warring
against the pestiferous weeds.
Atop the west stadium now sits
an enlarged press box. The new
structure was lengthened at each
end, thus accommodating radio
hookups at the north and south
extremities. Newsmen will be al
lowed the entire central portion of
the hitherto crowded box.
The Cornhusker players will
flaunt, brilliant uniforms, new
from the skin out this year. Chest
length shoulder pails, new hip pads
and shoes with special time mud
cleats are the unmentionables of
a Husker grtdder's wardrobe. The
fans will be dazzled by brilliant
scarlet Jerseys with white sat n
numbers on both front and back.
