Five Leagues Compete in
Round-Robin Schedule;
Rules Sent Out.
Schedule and rules for the com
in touch football season have
been mailed to Creek athletic man
agers. As the season opens Mon
day, Sept. 28. with six panics
scheduled for that date, players
are urged to contact their athletic
directors r.nd make themselves fa
miliar with the rules as soon as
possible.
Five leagues of five teams each
have been organized with games
to proceed as a round-robin within
each leae-ue. At the close of the
season, the winners of each league
will meet in tne nnais 10 ooiermmu
the grand champion. The title is
worth 150 points toward the intra
mural championship.
Play on "Russian Flats."
"Russian Flats," located north
of the Tenth street viaduct, will,
as usual, be the site of the games.
Goal posts have been erected and
will be used in the try for extra
point.
"Be sure that your men have all
had their physical examinations,'
warned Harold Petz. head of the
Intramural department. "T h i s
must be taken care of in order
for them to be eligible for Mon
day's games."

Wayne Williams Speaks on
Great Commoner at
Convocation.
Wayne C. Williams, the man
who critics say has written the
best and latest biography of Wil
liam Jennings Bryan, will speak
at the university's first convoca
tion Tuesday morning at 11 in the
Temple. Williams is assistant attorney-general
of the United
States, a nationally known lawyer
and an author of note. His ad
dress here on the Great Commoner
will be open to the public.
Dr. Harold W. Stoke, associate
professor of political science.
chairman of the convocation com
mittee, says an attempt will be
made this year to bring a series
of interesting speakers and artists
to the campus, many of them of
international fame.
"The committee is planning to
include not only discussions of
public affairs, but addresses on
art and literature," says Chair
man Stoke. "We hope to schedule
a convocation once each month."
Assistant Attorney-General Wil
liams is expected to arrive here
sometime Sunday evening, and
will be the guest of Tom Allen
for several days. The speaker has
been attorney general of Colorado
and a lecturer on legal and busi
ness problems at the University
of Denver. Since 1933 he has been
a special assistant in the depart
ment of justice at Washintgon.

tion committee this year are Prof.

Oliver Collins, who instructed in
mathematics and astronomy here
and Is now on leave of absence to
carry on research at the Yerkes
observatory, presented a paper at
the tercentenary program of Har
vard university. The paper dealt
with one phase of the subject on
which he is working for his Th. P.
degree. Mr. Collins will continue
his research at Yerkes for another
year.
