warmth continuing to pursue their studios and evincing more
than a passing interest in weather reports. Undaunted by the
thermometer topping weather, many students are participating
in the varied recreational program, supervised
by Prof. K. W. Lantz. Softball teams play

Teachers college building and tennis and golf
enthusiasts are practing diligently for tourna
ments, which will climax the sports program

ANNOUNCED recently was the
marriage of Marion Tipton of
Lake Andes, South Dakota and
Ralph Carson of Nebraska City.
The ceremony took place June 6
in St. Louis. Both are graduates
of the University of Nebraska.

the University of Nebraska, where
Mr. Brownell was an Innocent and

Beta Kappa and Miss Schill is af

of Marcella Laux to Leonard
Tangney of Denver, Colorado. Miss
Laux is a graduate of the Univer
sity of Nebraska and is a member
of Pi Kappa Lambda Theta. Mr.
Tangney has attended the univer
sity and is a member of Delta
Sigma Chi.
AUGUST 12 Birdie Lindholm of
Lincoln will be married to Russell
Casement of David City. Both are
graduates of the University of Ne
braska. KATHRYN Neely, tri-Delt. will
be married Saturday, July 11 to
Wayne Schammel at St. Mary's
cathedral in Lincoln.
A LATE June wedding was that
of Beatrice Fanning and Ned
FrosL The ceremony took place
in McCune, Kansas on the 25th.
Mr. Frost attended the University
of Nebraska.
ANOTHER late June wedding
taking place on the 26th of the
month, was that of Mary Morton
and Clifford Russell of Jamestown,
New York. Mrs. Russell is a for
mer student at the University of
Nebraska.
HUSKEKS TO PLAY
GAME WITH IOWA
1938 Grid Contest With
Hawkeves Announced.
After a lapse of two years, the
Husker football team will again
play Iowa during the 1937 season
in Lincoln. 7n 1938, the Scarlet
team will play the Hawkeyes at
Iowa City on Nov. 19.
The last game was played be
tween the two teams when the
Huskers scored a 14-13 victory
here in 1934. The 1938 game was
announced recently by Athletic Di
rector Dana X. Bible.

CHOKUS GIVES FOURTH
ANNUAL BROADCAST
Wednesday, July 8, the all-state
high school chorus, under the di
rection of George Howerton, pre
sented the fourth annual broadcast
over KFAB. The program consist
ed of musical numbers by the chor
us and introductory remarks by
Dr. Howard Kirkpatrick, head of
the school of music.
Dr. KirkDatriek stated in part.
that the chorus has attained a re
markable degree of proficiency
under Dr. Howerton'a direction.
The program was given from 9:30
to 10 In the morning.
