Students have started to leave for destinations in all corners of the United States. loth Maxine Thurcsson and Bob Hnlbert will spend the holidays in their respective homes in California. Bill Bacon plans to visit with his parents in Boston, Mass., and Kenny Palvey and Dick Decker have gone to California to see the Iiose Howl game New Year's day. Marguerite "Wishart will pass the next two weeks' time at her home in Evans- ville, lnd., and Dela.s Gay will leave for Casper, Wyo. So we'll just say .Merry Christmas, everybody, and a very, very happy 'ev Year. o NOR DO THOSE less fortunate students who have to remain in or near Lincoln need to be neg lected. Tonight one fraternity will hold its annual formal, and the Y. W. and Y. M. will entertain at a Christmas party. Saturday evening the Sigma Chi's will be hosts at a dinnor rianrp at the I.inroln hotel. SIGMA ALPHA EPSILON will entertain at a formal at the Corn husker hotel this evening at 9 o'clock. Chaperons for the affair will be Professor and Mrs. Karl Aindt. Professor and Mrs. Bras, Mrs. Sarah A. Nelson, the Kappa heusemother, and Mrs. Hal Minor, the Sig Alph housemother. About 250 bids have been issued for this affair. Members of the fraternity are planning a formal stag dinner to be held at the chapter house before the dance. SIGMA CHI'S are remaining in town until Sunday so that they can attend their annual dinner dance which is to be held at the Lincoln hotel Saturday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Tables will be decorated and favors will be presented to the girls. Chaperons will be Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Rowe, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Cora Bentley. the housemother, and Mrs. Melsana Daniels. About 250 bids have been issued to the dance which follows the dinner. AND HERE'S a surprise for you remember right after Thanks giving vacation when we an nounced that Polly Pollard was wearing a Sig Ep pin? Well, now that it's nearly Christmas she and Bob Benson have passed the candy and the cigars. The box of candy which was made in the shape of a Sig Ep pin was passed at the Chi O house last night at the chapter's annual Christmas dinner. ALL UNIVERSITY students have been invited to attend the party which is being given by the Y. W. C. A. and the Y. M. C. A. in Ellen Smith hall this evening from 8 until 11 o'clock. There will be thirty-five rep resentatives present and they will be accorded an interview with President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Burt will return via New York City. BETAS entertained dates at their annual Christmas dinner Tuesday evening at the chapter house. Tables were centered w'h small Christmas trees and were lighted by red tapers. He has indicated that the entire meet ing will deal with, the practical side of newspaper work, and that personal and political arguments will be kept off the program. Marvin will leave Lincoln the day after Christmas and will re turn through New York. He ex pects to be back shortly after the first of the year. The convention is described by Beaubaire as a meeting of college daily editors, and although many of the delegates invited to attend are members of the Association of College Editors, there is no con nection between the two, he said.
